Aisling huffed at her soup irritably. She was so tired of cold meals- why could they never get food to her hot while she was in the infirmary? And she shouldn't even be here now. Her foot felt much, much better, for all that it had turned out to be a worse injury than she'd thought initially.
She took a spoonful of soup, sipped at it distastefully, and then set the bowl aside, trying not to spill it. Her insomnia had kicked in again over the last month, and she was so very tired of lying in that bed.
She glanced quickly from side to side... no one was coming to check on her, and no one was likely to come in for a while.
Perfect time to try this.
She swung her legs out from under the covers, cringing (as she always did) at the shiny red lines that snaked up her leg almost to her knee. It didn't hurt any more, and she had been very lucky that it had only gone as deep as it did- and that very little had hit Oenanth's hide.
Carefully... carefully, she maneuvered herself until she met the cold floor with the soles of her feet, and then she pushed herself up to a standing position.
Aisling! What are you doing? snapped Oenanth, and Aisling colored and looked about guiltily.
I-I'm just... trying my feet out. she answered, nonplussed, and she could feel the snort of irritation Oenanth had surely just made.
You're not supposed to. the green answered grumpily, and Aisling waved her hand breezily.
I'll be fine, love, don't worry. I know my own body. she answered, reassuringly, and then, nervously, she took a careful step.
There. That wasn't so hard.
She took another, and then on her third step, sharp tingles of pain arced up the side of her leg.
"Ouch!" she whispered. Okay, so she wasn't completely healed, but she didn't want to give up yet.
M'sil had been going about his duties as a dragonrider and trying to be a Healer, he was finding some time to do both now that he was graduated. So he took the time to go and see about helping in the Infirmary, he had Tymora on his right shoulder. He was glad that he was able to throw himself back into his craft, as he was walking towards the Infirmary he heard a noise.
As he got closer he realized that someone had yelled, he walked towards it and smiled a bit. Someone to help finally, he wasn't going to be completely useless. He walked in and saw the young woman. He wasn't sure what to think really but he got closer and looked at her. The injury wasn't to serious but she shouldn't have tried walking yet, it wasn't that recovered.
"You know you shouldn't be putting weight on that." M'sil said as he got closer to her and looked at her calmly. He knew that she probably knew that she shouldn't be walking on her foot yet. Though he would get a Master if she kept this up, but that was because she didn't need to injure herself again.
