The day, though warm, was not nearly as hot as it would be later in greenleaf. With a sigh, Dawnsky roused herself from her dozing state and stood, gazing out the opening of her den as she did so. It had been an easy, lazy day, with no rules to be enforced or apprenctices to be taught. Yet. The chestnut-colored she-cat stretched her front paws out in front of her, unsheathing her claws as she stretched, Next, she stepped out from her den and started around the camp.

Dawn stopped by the nursery, looking in for a moment on the kits and queens, then moved on. She finally waltzed over to the fresh-kill pile, her check on the clan done. Always put others before yourself. One of the rules of a warrior. Dawn yawned as she selected a mouse from the dwindling pile and took it to the shade of her den to eat. Once done, she looked around to see if there was anyone to go hunting with. The clan could use mroe fresh-kill.

OOC|| Bleh. Ah well, open for anyone.

Songblossom somewhat trotted into the camp behind some other cats. The warrior had just gotten back from patroling the clan borders. Still having a lot of energy left the orange and white she-cat looked around looking for some one to go hunting with. Spotting Dawnsky the warrior went over. "Hey Dawnsky would you like to go hunting with me?" The she-cat asked once she had reached the other cat. Songblossom hoped Dawnsky would since she didn't want to go by herself. That would be too boring.

Dawnsky noticed Songblossom enter the camp. When the she-cat made a beeline for her, Dawn stood, stretching luxuriously. She had opened her mouth to ask about hunting when she realized Songblossom had said it for her. Of course, I'd love to, Dawnsky purred, delighted. I've been a bit restless today. She looked to Songblossom and motioned with her head towards the exit of the camp and trotted towards it. Once there, she quickened her pace. Where shall we hunt? she called over her shoulder. A quick glance told her that Songblosson was following (I think).

OOC|| BLEH SHORT! lol.

"Me too I've been having to keep myself busy to keep from dying of boredom," Songblossom said quickly following behind Dawnsky. Thinking for a moment the warrior wondered where they should hunt. "Hm how about the morelands," Songblossom suggested. At the moment the morelands were the only places she could think of to go hunting. As she waited for a reply from the other she-cat Songblossom caught up.

Dawnsky nodded. Good idea! she mewed enthusiastically. IT felt so good to be out and about. The she-cat changed ehr course slightly so that they would be going to the morelands and would be downwind from it - that way, the prey wouldn't smell them coming. Race you! she said, then poured on the speed.

"Thanks," Songblossed mewed in response to Dawnsky's thanking. When the other she-cat said race you the orange and white she-cat grinned. Quickly the warrior put on speed in effort to surpass the other cat. As she ran Songblossom took in all of the sights and smells that were around here. As they neared the morelands Songblossom slowed her pace so as not to alert the prey that they were there. Eventually the she-cat came to a stop her sides heaving slightly as she began to catch her breath.

Dawnsky practically drank the air flowing into her lungs. Her body stretched out and she reached out, speeding up. She felt Songblossom coming up on her right, and they slowed together. Chest heaving, Dawn laughed. That felt so wonderful, she thought excitedly. She grinned at Songblossom and waited till she got her breath back. Good job. She spoke approvingly. Songblossom was fast. She had to be, to keep up with Dawnsky. Ok, let's go. She immediately dropped into a crouch, her ears twitching in an effort to find prey. Still, as she hunted she couldn't keep a slightly supressed grin from staying on her muzzle.

The she-cat soon located a mouse, off slightly to her right. Altering her course, she crouched, hesitated for a moment, then sprang. The mouse had no time to squeal before it was dead, her claws in its back. Dawn covered her prey to find it later, then looked around for Songblossom to see if she was hunting. Then, after a moment, Dawn kept going. Soon, she spied a pidgeon, and before another moment had passe,d it too had fallen under her stealthy claws and teeth.

Songblossom nodded and she too went down into a crouch. Hearing the soft patter of paws on the ground the she-cat crept forward. Soon the orange and white cat spotted a squirrell nibbling on a nut. Surpressing a grin Songblossom crept as close as she could before she pounced on the unsuspecting creature. Minutes later she added a mouse and a vole to her catch. "How much have you gotten Dawnsky?" The warrior asked looking over at the other cat.

Dawnsky stood out of her crouched position, gathering the pidgeon in her jaws and walking to her mouse. The she-cat grinned as she made her way towards Songblossom, gathering her mouse as she went. A mouse and a pidgeon, she said. You? Dawn thought that Songblossom would have gotten a good bit; she was a fine warrior and hunter. What else do we need to do...? she wondered silently. She was sure that unless she kept herself busy, she'd be bored to death.

"Me I have a squirrel, mouse, and vole," Songblossom said motioning with her tail at her catch. What should we do now?" The orange and white warrior then as looking from the prey they caught to the other warrior. Songblossom too was sure she'd be bored to death if she didn't keep herself busy. This day had to be one of the longest in the history of the clans because by looking at the sky she could tell it was barely past sunhigh and it felt like it's been forever since they left the camp.
