Golden rays of sunlight beamed down from the sky, dappled with only a few puffs of cloud. The light spread over the entire land, it's warm hands touching each flower and blade of grass. A very pretty look was cast over a particular area called New-Leaf Fields, now alive with the blossoms of many different types of flower. Every color could be found in the area; from the emerald green painting the blades of grass to the vibrant reds staining so many flower petals. In one word, this place was gorgeous.

Padding through the tall grasses, a snowy white she-cat stepped into the magical area. The scent of flowers wafted over the ground, trickling into the nasal cavities of the she-cat. "Ahhhh," Mistpetal sighed, "what a beautiful day." Large blue eyes peered at a nearby flower, it's periwinkle petals dusted with pollen that the wind had stirred up.

Glancing behind her, Mistpetal ensured that her appretice, Foxpaw, was following her. Sure enough, the young felinewas padding in the warrior's pawsteps, sticking close behind. "Come on Foxpaw," meowed the she-warrior, "let's find a clearing to train." With that, the foggy-furred adult was off again, loping through the flowers and grasses.

A clearing was not far off; the flowers gave way to a nice place with short grass and soft dirt. This would be the perfect area to train at.

"I agree," Foxpaw said having heard Mistpetal's words. Turning her head as she moved the apprentice looked at all of the beautiful flowers. Nodding to what her mentor said to her the cream colored apprentice quickly followed. As they moved to find a clearing Foxpaw took in all of the sights and smeels of New-Leaf Fields. When they arrived at a clearing the she-cat waited for Mistpetal to tell her what they were going to do.

"Alright," Mistpetal meowed happilly, "let's get started. I am going to attack you, and you will do whatever you can to stop me, alright? I want to see how developed your skills are." This was how Mistpetal always started training her apprentice. She told the smaller cat that she would attack her, and then afterward she would ask her apprentice to attack her. It was a good way to see what could be improved upon.

Crouching down, Mistpetal faced her apprentice. A playful grin tugged on her features, and her tail flicked back and forth behind her rump. Suddenly, with a playful yeowl, the she-cat hurled her body at Foxpaw, paws colliding with the fluffy white apprentice and knocking her over. Claws sheathed, Mistpetal attacked the younger cat.

Foxpaw nodded to what Mistpetal said and prepared herself for her mentor's attack. When the other she-cat crouched Foxpaw too crouched her tail flicking back and forth. When Mistpetal jumped at her Foxpaw braced herself, but was still knocked over. Once on the ground the apprentice kicked at her mentor's belly with her hindpaw's claws sheathed. In an effort to knock her mentor over the cream colored she-cat brought her hindpaws up to the older cat's chest before she pushed hoping that it would push the other she-cat off of her.

Paws grabbing Foxpaw, Mistpetal was quickly rolled over onto her belly. Showing little mercy, the snowy-white she-cat got ready to launch her apprentice off of her, getting her paws beneath the little cat's stomach. It didn't work, however, as Foxpaw threw all her weight to the side and succesfully got Mistpetal on top of her. Grinning slightly, Mistpetal once again tried to get on the bottom, failing. In a matter of seconds, Foxpaw had gotten her hind feet under the larger cat and gave a mighty push. Thrown off of her apprentice and into the long grasses, Mistpetal's tail shot straight in the air. She was happy.

"Good job, Foxpaw! You are getting very skilled!" Smiling, Mistpetal motioned for the smaller apprentice to attack her this time.

"Thanks Mistpetal," Foxpaw said as her breathing slowed to it's normal rate. When her mentor motioned for her to attack the she-cat went into a crouch. Keeping her eyes on Mistpetal the apprentice slinked towards the other cat's left side before she pounced. Foxpaw was aiming for the older cat's shoulder in an attempt to knock her mentor over. The cream colored she-cat hoped that she would hit her mark though she knew there was the possibility of Mistpetal moving out of the way. If that happened she'd have to improvise.

Mistpetal watched with a slight smile staining her features as her apprentice crouched down, tail flicking back and forth. The smaller cat's body swayed a bit from side to side as she determined where to attack. Very interesting. "She is getting good, very good." Mistpetal thought quietly to herself, scrutinizing the smaller femme with proud eyes.

Larger cat braced herself as she saw the muscles on the other cat tense, ready to fling herself into the air. It happened a few seconds later, with the creamy white fluff ball cannonballing toward her mentor. Mistpetal smiled, then rose onto her hind legs as the smaller cat attempted to collide with 'er shoulder. The smaller feline was caught around the stomach, flipped upside down, and fell to the floor in a ball of fur. "That is a good method you used, Foxpaw. I hope you payed attention to the defense I just showed you. It can be very helpful in combat. Very few know of it." The she cat smiled, licking the forehead of her apprentice affectionately.

Foxpaw hadn't what her mentor did and was promptly thrown to the ground. "I did Mistpetal," The cream colored she-cat said rising to the paws before shaking the dust out of her fur. When her mentor began licking her forehead the apprentice made a face like she wanted Mistpetal to stop, but she was only playing around. "So do you what me to attack you again?" Foxpaw then asked looking up at her mentor.
