Tail raised high above his head, and the small paws of the feline propelled him forward. Claws sunk into the blanket of pine needles as the apprentice followed the Deputy, stopping instantly when he saw the tufted tom drop into a hunter's crouch. Freezing suddenly, as if someone had pressed the 'pause' button on his life, Ocelotpaw watched. The older tom disappeared into the growth, and returned after the startled cry of a bird broke the silence. As predicted, the feathered creature hung limply from his mouth. "Nice catch! Yes, it is plump," Ocelotpaw purred.
The cat watched as Thistlefur buried his prey with a slight amount of dirt, then motioned for Ocelotpaw to go ahead. Smiling, the cat trotted forward, pausing when he saw a mouse sniffing around in the brush ahead. Dropping into a crouch, the bengal coated cat slowly slid forward, paws barely touching the ground as he glided toward his prey. When the small tom was within pouncing distance, he froze, eyes widening as he concentrated.
With a mighty leap, the cat hurled himself toward the creature, which let out a startled shriek and tried to flee. Too late. Finishing the mouse off with a crunch in its neck, Ocelotpaw picked up the limp body and proudly trotted back to Thistlefur. That's when Bloodpaw returned. Eyes turning to the other apprentice, Ocelotpaw dropped his prey and narrowed his eyes. He gave a questioning look to the other cat, listening to his apology carefully. Sounded true enough. Blinking, maw opened and Ocelotpaw meowed, "Hmn..I forgive you." Then, the handsome cat tilted his head sideways and smiled.

Listening to the praising tones of the clan Deputy, Ocelotpaw felt a surge of pride course through his body. The tom smiled, bowing his head slightly to Thistlefur as he pushed his mouse to the side of the larger tom and kicked a layer of dirt over it's cooling corpse. Then, sitting down and allowing his tail to cover his paws, silver green orbs layed themselves on the black apprentice. 'I shouldn't.. I won't eat.. I don't-' Bloodpaw's words caused the bengal-fleeced apprentice to roll his eyes. Wherever that cat had come from, he was sure taught a lot of weird customs. A cat had to eat to be strong. If Bloodpaw was going to punish himself and not eat, he was weak.
Tail-tip flicking annoyedly a couple of times, the cat said nothing as the black cat said his farewell, and turned away. All Ocelotpaw did was nod slightly, hardly noticing Darkpaw's shape appear out of the shadows. Blinking, the older apprentice merely twitched his ear to acknowledge Darkpaw's arrival, listening quietly as the two cats that were not ShadowClan born exchanged words.
When the two had left, Ocelotpaw stood up again. Whiskeres twitched a little, and the sleek tom looked back at Thistlefur. "Well, shall we continue?" Head tilted slightly as he asked his question, large eyes peering at the Deputy as he waited.

Large tom nodded, blinking a bit as he watched Thistlefur turn around and pad away, deeper into the forest. Ocelotpaw's tail twitched slightly, then he silently followed the older feline. Making hardly a sound, the lithe figurine halted, nose raised to inhale the scents. Once again, the strong scent of pine washed into the animal's body, but there was also something else. A mouthwatering taste crept into the tom's nose, his pale pelt twitching. Rabbit. Fur bristled very slightly, and the creature's silver pools instantly began to search for the creature. He found it in no time, sitting behind a bush nibbling on some grasses.
Get a hold of yourself," the tom thought, already light on his paws and ready to begin the chase. "You must hunt, not chase. Thistlefur is watching." Exhaling deeply, the hybrid crouched down, deciding he'd better get closer to the rabbit for better chanches of catching it. "There, little bunny," he whispered in a tone that was barely audible, "stay right there." When Ocelotpaw was within leaping distance, the hare seemed to notice something. A large, swivelly ear turned around, and the prey creature suddenly stopped eating. It's beady eyes glanced around quickly, and it's nose twitched a billion times per second. It was weary.
When he was just about to pounce, the sound of a bird singing to its lover startled the bunny, and it took off. Not to worry, though, the spotted tom was after it just as fast. His powerful haunches threw him into leap, then paws caught and churned the ground as he chased the animal. Now, this wasn't WindClan, and so chasing this rabbit was especially hard. Trees sprouted up everywhere, and Ocelotpaw was having to dodge them left and right. A normal cat would have given up the chase, but with his heritage came the ability to do this. This cat was fast, and he didn't hesitate to use his speed to it's full extent.
Coming up close behind the rabbit, the tom hurled himself at hit, fangs closing around the creature's windpipe as it gave a horrified squeal of terror. The rabbit went limp, and its eyes slowly glazed over. "Sorry, but in order for me to live, you must die," he whispered, staring at his prey.

The tom clamped his fangs around the soft fur of the rabbit, picking the heavy creature up and dragging it a couple steps forward. Silver eyes fixed forward, and the apprentice slowly made his way closer to Thistlestar. When the gray brown leader padded up to the odly-colored cat, Ocelotpaw smiled slightly. His Leader didn't seem to approve of his hunting method, but not many ever did. They thought Ocelotpaw should stick to the same old, boring rules of hunting. Yet, Ocelotpaw loved to run. Feeling the wind in his fur; it was rejuvenating and wonderful.
Audio tilting toward his leader, Ocelotpaw quietly listened to his words. "Warrior ceremony." The two words hung in the air like a thick morning fog. Blinking, the rabbit dropped from the tom's mouth and he stared at Thistlestar, completely surprised. "Warrior ceremony?" He asked, clear bewilderment coating each syllable. "I - I never expected - I didn't think -" Pelt was already bristling slightly with joy, and the apprentice brimmed with pleasure. Bowing his head, he stopped releasing jumbled words and unfinished sentences. "Thank you, Thistlestar. I shall serve you and StarClan well," he meowed, stone blue eyes meeting with those of his Leader.
Then, picking up the rabbit in his jaws, the tall tom put extra effort into hauling the prey back to camp. The two felines stopped to pick up their prey from earlier on, and after a few attempts Ocelotpaw was able to get the mouse and rabbit secured in his teeth. When all the prey had been gathered, Ocelotpaw followed the older tom just a few pawsteps behind. He was going to be a warrior.
