Padding quietly into the camp behind Thistlestar, Ocelotpaw immediately made his way over to the fresh-kill pile to dump his load. Excitement coursed through his veins, and his pelt bristled with excitement. "A warrior!" True, Ocelotpaw was already old enough to be a warrior; he was 12 moons. Many cats had become warriors by this time in their life, but it had taken Ocelotpaw a bit longer. He wasn't great at being mature, and so time had been necessary before he received his warrior name.
Sitting down beside the fresh-kill pile, Ocelotpaw quickly gave his chest fur a few licks. Then, a helper came. Poppyseed, Ocee's sweet mother, padded over to him and smiled warmly. Apparently she had known about this ceremony before Ocelotpaw himself had. The large tom let out an excited purr-like meow, closing his silvery eyes as his mother gently began to lick his face. When Ocelotpaw was half-way through his cleaning, he heard the words that would summon him. The handsome tom shivered a bit, opening his luminous pools and nodding a thanks to Poppyseed. The Queen smiled, allowing the tip of her cocoa tail to rest on Ocelotpaw's shoulder for a moment.
Turning around, the feline saw that many cats had already gathered beneath the Moontree, waiting for him. Raising his head slightly, chest puffing out, the apprentice walked side-by-side with his mother to join the ranks. This was his ceremony, but he would not approach the Moontree before being summoned. He knew the ritual, and it was custom for the apprentice to join the ranks of his clanmates while the leader explained.

Amber eyes flickered in the soft light as he spotted Ocelotpaw and his mother in the semi-circle. The grey brown tom nodded his head in approval and made sure that all the cats were there. Thistlestar nodded again, and spoke the words that Ocelotpaw would remember forever. ”I, Thistlestar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard and long to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn.” Thistlestar flicked the end of his tail at Ocelotpaw, signaling for the tom to come closer.
Thistlestar also noticed that Bloodpaw was looking grim. Amber eyes narrowed at his apprentice, but he said nothing. The grey leader gave Ocelotpaw enough time to get on the thick, low-hanging branch. ”Ocelotpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your own life?” Thistlestar had a flashback to when he had been Thistlepaw, and had stood before his leader to receive his warrior name. That day seemed eons ago, and Thistlestar knew that Ocelotpaw would remember this day into the future. The Clan leader had chosen a suiting name for the spotted apprentice, and hoped that StarClan would approve.

The light had begun to fade and turned silver by the time Thornclaw had returned to the camp. She carried between her teeth several limp forms. As she neared the camp, she stopped, ears pricked forwards. The black she-cat heard a yowl spilt the night, calling for the cats of the clan. With a hiss of frustration as she nearly dropped one of her prey, she darted into the camp. As she jogged by the fresh-kill pile, Thornclaw dropped off her fresh-caught food and dashed for the meeting. At the edge of the gathering, she stopped and listened.
Ah, she thought with satisfaction, Ocelotpaw is becoming a warrior tonight. She purred softly to herself. It was about time. The apprenctice, she knew, had been vigilent in his studies and practiced often; it was a good time for him to become a warrior. Thornclaw watched as the young tom clambered up into the tree adn heard the words that she, too, had once heard. She remembered her excitement as she breathlessly answered 'I do'. And she had always tried her hardest to uphold that promise. Now, she returned to the present with a slight smile.

Blinking, Ocelotpaw sat in the crowd, watching his clan Leader and waiting. Just waiting for the time to come, for him to step forward...and take the title of a warrior. Tail twitching, Ocelotpaw listened eagerly as Thistlestar began to speak. The words he said were words Ocelotpaw had heard many times before. Yet, this time they sounded different...they were different, this time they were for him. Small smile laying on his lips, Ocelotpaw gave his chest fur a couple of quick licks, then saw his Leader motion for him to come forward. Standing up, the large tom raised his head proudly, and walked forward.
It seemed like the fifteen seconds it took him to get to the Moontree was a lifetime. With each pawstep, Ocelotpaw thought about how far he had come. From a tiny kit, carefree as he play fought with his siblings. Then as a newly apprenticed cat, developing his own personality and having to deal with the harsh task of being the child of a kittypet. So many had hated him then, so many had thought him to be naught but a scrap of useless kittypet filth. Ocelotpaw had been determined to proove them wrong, and over the past couple of moons had succeeded in gaining the respect he longed for from most cats. When the other clan cats realized how much bigger he was than other cats, and how his build was noticably different, they knew he would be a lethal warrior. His build was the right type to make a strong warrior, and now they only had to worry about his loyalty. Ocelotpaw, at this time, was absolutely no trouble, however. His loyalty was to ShadowClan alone, and it would stay that way. That was his view on things now, at least. Things change over time, and the hybrid feline might just change too.
Sleek pelt rippled as he stopped below the Moontree, shivering once as he got ready to be named. It was like taking a breath and diving into icy water. Silver eyes shone, and the lithe figure leaped onto the branch beside Thistlestar. For a short moment, out of the corner of his eye the cat saw another warrior slipping into camp. The she-cat made eye contact with him for a moment, and suddenly the tom was filled with a new strength. He had the support of many cats, the respect and trust. Head bowed to his Leader, and Ocelotpaw boldly listened to the words that would always follow him.
'Ocelotpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your own life?' The words rung in Ocelotpaw's ears for a few moments, then boldy puffing out his chest, jaws parted and he responded. Two crystal clear words dripped off his ebony lips, words spoken to his Leader, his Clan, and StarClan. "I do."

The night, glowing before, now seemed to Thornclaw to grow brighter. She knew the apprentice had to be bursting with pride. Thorn loved when a cat like Ocelotpaw proved everyone wrong. It amused her, because oftentimes she could see the good in cats before others. She'd known that Ocelotpaw would be a good addition to the clan. Don't get too cocky, young one, she thought. You've got a lot to prove yet. The she-cat watched is silence, waiting for Ocelotpaw to recieve his warrior name.
Thornclaw chuckled softly to herself, revelling at how fast time flew. It seemed only yesterday that Ocelotpaw had been a kittypet, and now he was a muscled warrior. StarClan, I know you'll approve of him. He's a good cat. Surely you see that, she thought. She knew that Ocelotpaw would be accepted. At least, she hoped he would. If anyone deserved it, he did. She was brought back to her childhood, how she'd been the runt. And now, she was one of the larger cats in ShadowClan. She'd overcome her own challenges, and was sure Ocelotpaw would do the same.

Bloodpaw, not feeling inspired to congradulate Ocelotheart on being ranked up to a warrior, walked away, finding a spot to lay down. Darkpaw however, ignored Bloodpaw's disrespect towards the new warrior and went up to Ocelotheart and just like the others, he congradulated him.
"Hey, great one!" Darkpaw meowed. Ha ha, he has to sit there all night while the rest of us...rests! the dark pelted apprentice thought, stepping away from the new warrior.
Bloodpaw looked over, not far enough so he can't see the cluster of cats, at the crowd of cats. "I don't see why they make such a big deal out of this.. Ooh, he's strong. Big deal," Bloodpaw murmured to himself in a barely audible tone.
