Auryn was... exhausted. Ever part of her body ached and longed for her bed. As had become somewhat a ritual at their old Weyr before the move to Aleyeska, when another Queen flew, she and Ahrianth went off into the mountains far away and went hiking for the entire duration of the flight and the lust that followed through with it. She was sort from her neck down to her legs and everything in between and her feet ached. But it was a good sort of ache. One she knew that a long hot bath, some tea, and a good sleep would solve and feel lovely in the morning once again. For now however she slowly slid off of Ahrianth and patted her dragons foreleg affectionately before wandering into her inner Weyr.

"That was fun neh?"

As always my lovely. It was good to stretch my legs along with my wings.

"You're lucky you have wings, I swear."

You have me, you don't need wings.

Auryn just chuckled and slid out of her heavy leather riding jacket and out of her boots. Leaving her in riding leather pants, a nice blue blouse, and her hair pushed back with with a blue bandana. She wasn't looking exactly like a knock out at the moment, but she was lonely and was not at all sure where R'ton was or what sort of mood he would be in after the flight. He normally always wanted to have a bit of alone time after a flight to get things sorted. So instead she had a wonderful idea.

"Lovely, can you invite up S'tre and his creature? I think it would be good to visit with them both..."

Ahrianth sent a word to his bronze and then waited for a reply. Then once she was sure they were coming up she informed Auryn and they both waited...

The Lady Auryn calls for us. She seeks our company in her weyr.

S'tre lowered the skin he had been reading, still working with R'ton even though he had long since become a dragonrider, and even joined in a queen flight recently. Something he still didn't know how he fully felt about.

'She's back? Why didn't you tell me. Usually you don't take your eyes off what they are up too.

They only just returned, and she called for you swiftly after. It must be important. And my eyes are always on my queens... both of them. Zaliranth stressed, though he still had a soft spot for Zairreth.

S'tre wondered what could be so urgent on her mind that she wanted to see him the moment they returned. Not one to question his weyrwoman, and especially one he'd liked since they first talked alone, he stood at once to brush out his hair and throw on a clean shirt and jacket.

We have come my queen, may I approach your ledge? Zaliranth asked midflight just before they reached her high weyr not too far from their own. When he got the permission needed, he landed and waitted for S'tre to dismount. He then turned to look at his senior queen and nodded his large bronze head at her. It is good to see you returned to us safe. We are happy for your return. He said with respect and kindness to his queen.

S'tre slowly pulled off his riding goggles and gloves as he approached the inside of the weyr, clearing his throat as he didso. "Lady Auryn? You called for me?"

Ahrianth raised her head in a rather pleased manner and arched her neck as she looked out of the Weyr. There was Zaliranth, all bronze and young and fit. She certainly liked the looks of this bronze and as he approached her ledge and asked permission to land her opinion of him grew three times the size. She loved a polite fellow and he was turning out to be just that. Of course she would let him land! After all how else was the poor little rider of his going to get off and to go visit her Auryn?

You can indeed land good Zaliranth! It is good you came so quickly. We were in desperate need of your attentions and company.

She fluttered her wings slightly and then settled them back gently onto her back as they landed. She made enough room for the bronze to scoot in very close to her and still leave enough room for S'tre to walk past and find Auryn...

***

Auryn was just untucking her shirt so that it looked more flowy as she heard S'tre walk up. She turned and looked over her shoulder at him, flashing her gold given smile and her baby blues. She used every ounce of her femininity in that moment from hip sway to slowly straightening down her shirt as she turned to face and talk to him. She wanted to see how he reacted to her. Alone, with out R'ton here to booster his confidence. After all she knew what R'ton had been planning. R'ton had wanted S'tre to take over for him one day, and with no bronzes from the last clutching... It really would be up to him now to step up to the plate. So he would have to get used to her sometime.

"Yes S'tre, thank you for coming, so very quickly. I um..." She moved closer and placed her hand on the mans chest and looked at him. He was rather attractive after all. She thought to herself, there really must still be residual lust left over in the air or something. That or Ahrianth was taking to Zaliranth just that quickly....

"I have an ache in my back and I was wondering if you could rub it out for me?"

I always answer the call to my queens the moment they ask. I am more than happy to share our company with you if you so desire it. You will find that all is well in your weyr. He said once S'tre was off. He then turned his gaze to his senior queen and remained close to her, not feeling estranged in the slightest.

S'tre was just tucking his gloves into his jacket when he caught glimpse of Auryn's eyes, not to mention the way she was oddly moving her hips. It was only a few days ago when the mating flight heat made him finally become a man. Though he had enjoyed every moment of the confused harsh lust driven moments with Kya, it had left him feeling a little more aware of his feelings towards women, and a little more terrified deep inside. He paused in step a moment longer, not sure if she really meant for him to see her like that or not. He had come expecting news, not another display that would drive him to a place he only just discovered.

He watched her approach him curiously, wondering what she had to say and trying to ignore what she had done before wanting to believe she wasn't out for his body... why would she anyway? She had R'ton? And he'd seen how kind they were to one another when he was around.

When she touched his chest, he felt a lump form in his throat. This was not like the lady he'd come to know at all. Still he listened and watched her carefully, curiously. He wasn't that attractive was he? True ladies seemed to flirt with him alot, and he did have long black hair. He then suddenly almost dropped his jaw, instead, just staring at her in shock. Did she really just ask him... to... massage her?!?!

"Um... of course... if you wish." He said but didn't move yet. He was still in shock from all this, and of course affected. She was beautiful in her own ways. "Did you, hurt yourself during your time away?" He asked trying to make sense of this as he bit his lip when she wasn't' looking and slowly started to reach his hands up to her as he tried to step in behind her... but paused before touching her. "... you, want to sit first?"

Auryn couldn't help herself but laugh loud and heartily at S'tre. He certainly was new to such attentions and while he seemed to be completely blown off of his feet he was obviously trying to handle the situation as best he could. Auryn had spent enough time in the Weyr to no longer be affected by such games, even with her small sheep farming background. This was now just a part of life. Sometimes hormones ran high and if you didn't run with them you got run over by the. It was a lesson sometimes learned he hard way but for most the transition was easily made. After all she was not planning on bedding him in the next few minutes. That would just be unheard of! For now she just laughed and backed off a ways, taking off her bandana and shaking her hair out.

"It's ok S'tre thats quite a large favor to ask and you are probably still recovering from the golds light yes?"

She tilted her head to the side to let him speak and sat down on the fur covered wooden couch that had been a present from High Reaches on their last visit. In return Aleyeska had gifted them with the first cut of their harvest last fall, rich in minerals that revitalized the people and their spirits. If nothing else Aleyeska would be able to sustain herself with such trades. After all their Weyr was built in Glacial rich mountains. The nutrients would be good to hold generations before it started to run dry.

"Come, sit with me, tell me how the flight went."

Now then, tell me of your time away. You seem refreshed despite the tired eyes you carry. Zaliranth said still trying to strike up conversation with the queen as he remained at her side.

S'tre frowned hearing her laugh, and watching her walk off. It was true that he had always had a small crush on her, since the day he gave her those stones as a gift. But he never once thought more about it assuming that he didn't stand a chance against R'ton. But when he watched her hair fall loose of her bandanna, he softly sighed then forced his head up and watched her closely and attentively.

"It is not that large a favor, and you merely ask that I massage your shoulders. I would not have minded." He boldly said taking some of his dragons strength. Even if he was still new to this game, he now at least had confidence.

Once asked too, he stepped forward and took a seat next to her on her nice couch, not too close but still within arms reach. He looked up into her eyes respectfully, till she asked of the flight which made him feel a bit awkward.

"Hmm, it went well. I hope. Zaliranth is proud to have been chosen and has taken extra care of tending to the gold's needs since that day. I had heard how intense it would be... but I wasn't as ready for it as I should have been. I know I let him down a little. I was really nervous, and confused. But... I am sure here soon we will have new weyrlings within our sands. Hard to believe just a year ago Zali and I were one of them... and now... here we are chasing our first gold, and fathering our fisrt clutch. It's really kinda alot to take in. But I'm not too worried now that it's over with. And Kya has been real good about it too." He said and then stopped, not wanting to say much more about Kya, as a part of him felt mixed feelings for her now too. Not only after what they had shared but, maybe he had a crush on her too. More than that which his dragon gave him. This was all really going to be hard and confusing to him for a while and he knew it. Still he trusted both gold riders enough that he could talk to them.

Auryn listened for a bit and smile, S'tre truly was taking this new bit of responsibility quite well what with having to watch out for his bronze around a soon to be proody gold and the idea of helping to father the next generation of Aleyeska's dragonets. It could be an immense amount to take in all at once. That and by the sounds of it S'tre had maybe lost his virginity in the flight, and that alone could put a man through the ringer. Especially with the feelings that sometimes came attached to that first time.

"You seem to be handling it all very well S'tre. Especially for your age. I'm not calling you young, I am saying you are mature..."

She motioned with a hand as she turned at an angle from him for him to rub her shoudlers. She did still want the affection and her shoudlers were rather tense. She was glad to hear S'tre talking to her as well. That meant that he wasn't quite as scared of her as he used to seem to be. She still had the stones that he had given her, all tucked away and safe so that someday she could turn them into something beautiful. She also knew that someday one of them would be come a belt buckle for him. That way she could repay his kindness in some small way.

"If you really don't mind I would still love to have a shoulder rub. I slipped on some of the skree *loose rocks* on the hike we were on and had to catch myself on a couple of branches. Rather painful really."

Auryn thought about it for a moment, she was really going to have to spend more time getting to know S'tre. He was no R'ton that was for certain, but he was not bad in any way or by any means. Just.. different from the company that she had become accustomed to over the years of being at R'tons side.

"So where are you from S'tre? Do you miss it at all? Have you visited since you graduated Weyrlinghood?"

S'tre waited for her response, wondering what was going on in her head but not pushing for anything verbally. He still respected her as the weyrwoman and knew better than to question her actions.

"Thank you, I am honored to hear you feel that way. My training with R'ton has helped alot. He is a very good and kind man when you get to know him." He smiled really feeling that way and knowing Aruyn would agree.

He then watched her hand curiously as she motioned to her shoulders. He turned immediately to the side to face her, pulling one leg up under him on the couch and then reached out slowly to take a good firm hold of them with both hands. "Not at all. Though I warn you I don't have magic fingers or anything, so I hope what I can offer helps a little at least." He said lightheartedly. "Sounds like you had quite a fall though. I am glad you didn't' break anything." He said starting to slowly rub her skin with his thumbs, massaging a little deep as he searched for her sore spots.

"Umm... to be honest, no. I don't miss it, nor do I really care to talk about life back then. I did like the exploring I got to do as a fisherman though... I was in training for that when the dragon searched me. But since that day, this is my home now, and the only place I'd return too I've decided." He said softly but truthfully.

Ahrianth, who would blush as red as a rose if she could, startled herself out of the half daze she had gone off into between sleep and trying to figure out why Auryn was flirting so much with S'tre. She had leaned her in into the bronze and the comfort of having him there had simply made her lax in the mind. Her eyes whirled an apologetic orange and blue as she looked over at the fine creature who lounged beside her and crooned an apology.

can you forgive a gold and her wandering thoughts? Our travels took us up into the hills far away from the pull of the flight. We hiked many ridges and soaked up much sun. It was very wonderful indeed.

Meanwhile Auryn listened to S'tre tell of how Aleyeska was now his home, and that he had completely left his other life behind him. It was certainly a large statement and made Auryn both glad and sad to hear it. Glad because she must be doing something right to make people want to stay at the Weyr that she had founded but sad to hear that maybe the reason for his deciding to make it his true home was because of a troubled past.

As his hands worked over her shoulders she could not help but sigh pleasantly at the touch. His hands were strong from his past whatever it might all entail and worked through the knots with just below expertise.

"You're doing well on my shoulders... thank you. What is your favorite part of Aleyeska so far over the last year?"

Of course I can. You have much to think of and I brought S'tre here for your rider. You must be tired, please, rest my queen. I will be silent so you may till we take our leave. Zaliranth said with the kindest most respecting tone he'd shown her yet as he folded his limbs in under himself, and laid down, turning his head to look out at the weyr bowl and leave her be.

Hearing her sigh, S'tre knew he must be doing good even though he really had no clue what he was doing. He softened the rub up now and again before deeply working her shoulders once more, hoping that was a good thing.

"I am? You're welcome but I really am just guessing." He smirked at her. He then thought about her question a moment, looking from her shoulders to the side in thought. "Hmm, to be honest. I'd have to say the atmosphere. Everyone here is so close, and friendly. It is easy to call this place home, even in the cold. I know it's odd hearing me say that when I don't have too many friends... but thanks to Zaliranth, and you and R'ton... I feel like I have a home here. And a place that cares for one another. Even those who once had it rough... seems many here did at one time." He said thinking of Kya and others.

It made Auryns heart swell to hear that people were considering Aleyeska HOME. For some a Weyr could be just the Weyr their entire life and never have any true connection to where they were at. She continued to concentrate mostly on the conversation but was letting herself get more and more comfortable with the feeling of his hands on her shoulders.

"A little lower please," she asked softly, S'tre really was better at this than he was giving himself credit for. It felt amazing to have someone take so much care even if they were unsure. Auryn's mind drifted and she let herself be quieted mentally in his presence. She knew she could trust him after all. R'ton wouldn't have taken him under his wing if he thought that she would somehow not be safe around him.

Zali... Did you enjoy catching that younger gold?

Ahrianth had been dozing slightly and nudged Zaliranth with her question. Her eyes whirled an odd almost yellow color. Don't get her wrong, she loved Rotonth, but knew that his rider was trying to move on and that he would follow his rider when the decision was made. Her own cycle wasn't for a while yet but still it was on the back of her mind thanks to Auryn. The pale gold dragoness wasn't sure if she would be hurt by his answer if he admitted strong feelings for the younger gold or not. So she simply waited.

Meanwhile Auryn nearly choked on her own tongue at her dragons sudden and unusual question. She coughed and turned to look over her shoulder at s'tre, waiting to see what his reaction would be when his dragon answered...

"Here?" S'tre asked as he lowered his fingers down to the small of her back, trying to do the best he could though he still had not clue what he was doing. But with his larger hands it was easy enough. He noticed as he massaged her how lithe her body was. Not as much as Kya's but, it still held it's own beauty. He couldn't help but notice her scent as well. Though his heart held feelings for Kya now after their flight... he couldn't deny his old feelings for Auryn as well.

Feeling the nudge, Zaliranth turned to look at his senior queen with calm curious eyes. Comforted to be near her but also aware, or so he thought, that she was not is. I did. he answered honestly and immediately in his calm serious nature. I was happy to bring in the new queen and father the eggs that will soon come to our weyr. I feel it is a good sign of things to come for S'tre and I. He also said just as calm and steady leaving it wide open for assumption.

S'tre stopped the massage a moment suddenly, aware and worried that his dragon though honest was going to offend. He didn't know at all that the golden pair had a thing for him, but still he knew queens could become jealous. He bit his lip and looked down at Auryn carefully when he heard her cough and saw her eyes on his. "... Sorry... I can stop him..." He offered quietly.

The drop of her heart in her chest was more suprising than she could have ever known as her dragon relayed the answer to her. She didn't know how much she had been affected by watching S'tre every time R'ton had brought him around. She thought that it had merely been a harmless infatuation of watching R'ton work again. Unfortunately now as she turned herself to look fully at him and hearing his apology for his dragons behalf she Auryn knew full well that it was more. She could feel a lump growing at the base of her throat and she fought desperately to push it down sending her mental hurt to Ahrianth and asking for help.

We wanted to know. Now we know. But we only know that his bronze enjoyed flying the young queen and bringing life to the Weyr. This is good. He needs to have drive and we need more dragonets.

Ahrianth said quietly to Auryn so that Zaliranth wouldn't hear her. It was the least she could do for right now to comfort her rider. She would talk to her more later. For now she turned to adress the bronze with a teasing note.

I am glad that you were able to stretch your wings with our young queen. Just bear in mind that it will take more that a bit of stretching if you ever hope to fly me.

Meanwhile Auryn tried to find her words and not turn the situation into an awkward disaster.

"Don't worry about it S'tre. You both did very well and we will soon have eggs on our sands. Its what any Weyrwoman and her gold would want. Really." The woman said, keeping her eyes as bright as possible. In her heart she knew that she had to take things slow and not rush into anything. For both S'tre and R'tons feelings and for her own.

Slightly curious by his queen's words, Zaliranth of course was not about to disappoint. I am full aware that in order to catch you my queen, I will need to be better and faster. Rodonth will be a worthy foe, and I would like to test my will against his when that day comes. Zaliranth honestly answered her, raising his head high and prestige.

S'tre was still uneasy, he didn't know why this bothered him so much but it did. He was still unsure where his feelings were for both women, never before having a choice little own a chance. He looked her in the eyes as she spoke, his hand still on her back but not continuing yet. "I... hope you mean that. I truly do. I did not expect to be this far already, and to be honest, it makes me nervous. Real nervous. But I'm happy, and proud of what we've done for the weyr. I'd hoped to make both you, and R'ton proud. I know it sounds silly but I value both of your opinions on me, more than you know." He said being totally honest.

Ahrianth merely twitched her tail in mock agrivation and challenge to such words. Nodding her head in a simple "hmph" sort of way. She folded her forelegs very prim and properly one over the other and purred her amusement. With her wings settled ever so delicately, even for all her size, on her back she turned to and then from, and then to Zaliranth with her head with a simple and rather final,

Good.

And in the dragoness' mind that was purely that.

Auryn couldn't help but giggle at her dragons antics and it helped to take away some of the sting of it all. She had to try to remember that S'tre was still young and still had much to experience in the world. After all they had only just lost their shared virginity last flight. He was bound to have feelings for the younger goldrider. The choice was ultimately his, and she could always go back to R'ton. Not that she wouldn't mind having a new lover. Mentally sighing she shook her thoughts before they took her away with herself and looked at S'tre. "How about a nice cup of Tea?"

You've traveled far my queen, get some rest. Zaliranth insisted knowing they'd flown far. He leaned his neck in towards her and started to preen her scales a little in a friendly manner to ease her sore body just as S'tre was with Auryn.

"Tea?" S'tre asked after she offered. He then smiled and nodded. "That would be nice, thank you." He then stood and offered before she stood up herself. "Would you like me to make it for you? Your tired and sore and I'm sure I didn't help that much so please, allow me." He offered wanting to help her more. True he was a good man but it was also true that he had a small crush on her still as well. He didn't know in his heart where he stood with Kya or her, it was all still so new, so sudden. He didn't feel the need to make a choice. Not yet. For now, he wished to be close to them both and hoped that wasn't his first big mistake.

Auryn went over to an ornately carved stone cabinet that was by the hearth in her room and opened it up pulling out two small stone holders. from there she got down two mugs and put some water on the fire so that it would boil in good time. Carefully measuring out the right amount of herbs she set them into small metal containers with holes punctured just enough to let the flavor out with out making the tea gritty. It was a beautiful set and had been a gift from the Fort Weyrwoman on the years anniversary of the Weyr.

"There, that should be done soon. So, if you were to ever become Weyrleader, what would you do with this Weyr?"

She knew it was a heavy and fully loaded question but it was something that needed to be asked. Especially seeing as how even though it was about another 9 months before Ahrianth rose, the time was still slowly creeping up on them all and at least Auryn wanted to be ready for whatever would happen and needed to know how all the bronze riders felt should one of them prove better in the skies than Rodonth.
