'YES! Run! Fear me! I am the master of the sky! I am the extinguisher of your life!' Aerimeth screamed as she flew low over the herdbeast pens, the morning sun warm on her back. Her eyes whirled bright as the creatures below her ran in terror from her ominous figure. She reached the end of the pen and pulled up, spiraling into the air again. She proceeded to pull off a series of acrobatics and death-defying stunts high above the ground. Truth be told, she didn't need to eat. She merely wanted to stretch her wings and the herdbeast just happened to be very satisfying to scare.. As for her rider, who was strapped securely to her back, she was just in the mood for some fun.

It had been a good while since Kimara had found the time to go out with her green. It hadn't seemed like much at the time, but now that she was out there, wind whipping through her hair, she realized how much she had missed it. She leaned into Aerimeth's neck as the green pivoted on her wingtip and dove toward the pens again. A laugh tore past her lips and was left filling the air behind her as the pair sped toward the ground. Aerimeth roared as she pulled up again.

Aeri, go ahead and put me down over there. We've been up here a while and I want to stretch my legs a bit. Kimara pointed to a place not too far from the pens. The green complied. When they touched down, she undid her straps and slid down from her previous seat. A gracious pat was given to the green before she turned and took to the sky again. 'This snow is simply too cold for me, and I much prefer flying anyway.' she assured her rider as she left. The cold managed to reach tiny fingers into Kimara's boots as well, but it wasn't too much to deal with. She ade her way over to the fence and stood there, watching her green as she scared the herdbeasts yet again.

Several minutes of happy silence passed before either of them said anything. It was Aerimeth who spoke. 'Kimara, another comes' she informed her rider as she reached the apex of another incline and attempted a loop of some kind.

A large bulk of a figure came across the bowl with a large belt tacked around his waist. A huge flight coat that seemed to be accented with an extra ruff of fur around the collar and again around the tops of his boots. It looked like a very warm outfit. Blue riders cords hung off of one shoulder and a set of Mastersmith cords hung off the other. D'sol came tromping across the snow with a huge smile on his face. He had seen Aerimeth flying and asked Binth who it was. With the blue's confirmation of the pair he had dressed as warmly as he could so that he could go say hello. It had been a while since the harvest feast and he had truly enjoyed their dance and walk and wanted to spend more time with Kimara.

"Greeting Kimara! Look at her go!" He called watching Aerimeth fly over the beasts and scare them helter skletler and every which way. He used one of his large hands to shield the sun from his eyes and the other kept warm and safe in one of his pockets. It was good to be out in the air and get a breath of the cold and away from the piping heat of the forge. She had been right at the feast, he really did need to get out more.

At the sound of her name, Kimara turned. Had Aerimeth not warned her of the other person headed their way she surely would have jumped. Straining to see who it was, her fave broke into a wide grin when she realized that it was D'sol that was walking toward her. "D'sol! So good to see you again!" she waved excitedly at the bluerider. "It's been a while, hasn't it? I see you decided to take my advice then?" she teased him as she walked over to meet him half way. Upon reaching him, the greenrider even decided to chance a friendly hug. Since their meeting at the harvest feast, she had yet to see him around the weyr. She knew that he was probably busy down in the forge, but that didn't mean that he didn't exist. Several times, the greenrider had almost decided to go down to the forge herself to see if he happened to be there. She had had such a wonderful time with him at the feast, and she had always intended to find him again sometime so that she could spend more time with him.

"Isn't she just lovely?" She gazed up lovingly at her green as the dragon began to fly lazy circles high above them, preparing for yet another pass by the beasts. It was a wonder the poor animals hadn't died of fright yet. Kimara hadn't expected anyone else to come out there so early in the morning. In fact, to be honest she really didn't know why they were out there so early. It didn't really matter though. She was happy all the same, and that happiness had just grown stronger. "And where is your blue? I should think it strange that you're out here alone without him." she laughed.

Magipyth craned her head as she flew above. Aerimeth and riders are at the meat place. She seemed surprised. A'rien put a calming hand on her neck, amused. Little Lady, other dragons have to eat as well. His green snorted. For some reason, Magipyth had never liked being around other dragon's riders, though she was fine with the dragons themselves. She was surprisingly shy for a dragon. A'rien wondered sometimes if her timid nature was a result of her being smaller than most dragons, even other greens. He always tried to get to the herdbeasts early because of this, but sometimes they would have to deal with others. He worried a little about his sweet little dragon, whose shyness sometimes would be too much for her.

But Magipyth obediently flew A'rien beside Kimara and D'sol, landing delicately and staying long enough for her rider to dismount, before joining Aerimenth in the sky. She gave a much more friendly greeting to the other green--they were an odd showing of how different each color could go. Magipyth was all small and dark, with a shy nature. Aerimeth was big and brass, a vibrant grass green.

A'rien smiled. Not like he was displeased with his green at all. He wouldn't trade her for a bronze, even if he had the chance. He shook his head fondly.

His attitude changed a little as he turned to face the other riders. He wasn't shy like his dragon, but he wasn't the most friendly rider either, preferring to keep to himself. "D'sol, Kimara," he nodded a greeting. He smiled faintly. "Aerimeth flies well," A'rien added, more as a formality than anything. He ran a hand through his long hair to get the curls out of his face. He had forgotten to put his hair up in the morning, and had been too busy later between Magipyth and his duties to tie it up. It had been bothering him all day. How was he supposed to fly with all that hair in his face?

Aerimeth quickly caught site of another dragon headed toward her and she trumpeted a greeting in the newcomer's direction. 'Greetings Magipyth. Fair winds today.' the larger green added as she abandoned her aerial acrobatics to join the older dragon. Slowly, she circled downward until she was about even with the height of the other. 'I did not expect to see another out so early.'

Kimara was slightly startled by the appearance of another rider and dragon so soon after D'sol had shown up. Why hadn't Aerimeth warned her so she didn't look so surprised? Well, there wasn't much she could do about it now. Had the heardbeast pens really become such a hotspot recently? It wasn't that this was an inconvenience or anything though. Company was great, much better than standing alone in the snow outside. D'sol alone had been more than enough for her, but she didn't object to A'rien's presence. She only hoped that it wouldn't cause D'sol to leave. It had been longer since their last meeting than she had really cared for.

A friendly, welcoming smile was aimed in A'rien's direction as Kimara greeted him. "Good morning, A'rien. I do hope it finds you well." She tried to be as polite as possible. A'rien didn't seem to be in the friendliest of moods at the time, and she surely didn't want to bother him if he would rather be left alone. Thus, her 'perfect' little greeting. He could continue a conversation if he wanted, or he could just nod and go back to his own musings. The choice was purely his. In the meantime though, the girl turned back to D'sol.

D'sol chuckled at Kimara's words. So the girl had noticed that he had come out all on his own. Very observant of her. Though it was sort of obvious without the large rump of Binth's blue rear trailing behind him. The blue had still been asleep and dozing just inside of his Weyrledge. The sun just touching his hide. He would be awake soon enough and the dragon had been doing quite a bit of work betweening and carrying large amounts of the metal that D'sol had been using to outfit the entire weyr with buckles, knives, and had even started work on the elaborate covers for the doors of the dinning hall and the lower levels Hold doors. The holders had done rather well with the doors being only out of stone but he knew that they would settle even more once a good hard set of steel plate was lapped over the top of it.

"It is very lovely out Kimara." D'sol said taking her friendly hug and squeezing her just a little bit tighter and using his words to show that it was not just her green dragon or the snow that were such a lovely sight. He loved having her in his arms but he kept the hug short. If all went well maybe he would get to give her another hug at some point. It had been too long... "Oh Binth? He's still passed out in the sun in our Weyr. He'll be up soon. Been workin him to the bone I'm afraid. He'll be about due for a meal when he wakes up though."

He watched as a long tossle haired green rider landed just far enough off not to completely cover them in snow, which was generous of his green. He didn't recognize the pair off the bat but as the rider came closer he saw that it was A'rien. "Greetings. Look like you could use a hair cut." D'sol said playfully. Though he really did think the lad could do with getting some of that hair out of his face. Then again D'sols was buzz short. So anyones hair seemed long to him.

A'rien shrugged. "Good so far," he said, "My Magipyth is an early riser, so we've been up for a while now. She likes watching the sun rise," he added, smiling softly. They both did. When they could have the chance, if threadfall did not get in the way, then Magipyth and her rider would sit on the edge of their weyr and just enjoy the morning light. It was one of his favorite things about being a rider.

When he heard D'sol's comment, he grinned faintly. "I'm too vain to chop it off," he admitted. The Mastersmith was another rider, true, but he was intimidating. A'rien was smaller than average, like his delicate green, and the much taller D'sol put him immediately on alert. He blamed it on being the youngest and having three older brothers, especially the twins who loved playing tricks on him. He felt a little young, even though he knew he was the oldest here, like a child only a few turns old who had to watch out for a quick (loving) beating from (well meaning, he was sure) older brothers. A'rien rolled his eyes. He did love his brothers, but those had been some trying turns.

Magipyth caught a heardbeast, and his attention went to her. She was a bit of a distance away, but her eyes turned to him and sparkled. Hungry, mine?

Yes. But this is a good catch. She turned back to the beast.

A light sigh escaped Kimara's lips. The sunrise over the snowy mountains. She could just see it, bright orange flaring over the valley. We might have to make a point to try that, Aeri. The greenrider suggested to her dragon. Aerimeth just spread her wings and lazily floated downward. 'We shall see. Maybe tomorrow.' the larger green replied. 'If you happen to be up that early.' The green had a point.

The smile spread across Kimara's face faltered a bit as D'sol released her. She tried to keep it as inconspicuous as possible. There would be an opportunity for another hug, she was sure of it. "The poor thing. Don't work him too hard. I would like the chance to meet him at least once in his life." she winked to show that she was only teasing the bluerider. "So I take it that things have been rather busy down there lately? I thought about going looking for you a few times, but I didn't really want to interrupt anything so I decided against it." she turned and leaned back against the fence enclosing the herdbeasts.

"Who says there's anything wrong with long hair?" she tossed her own, longer hair, laughter lifting her voice a note or two. "I don't plan on cutting mine anytime soon either. I like it fine the way is and it isn't getting in my way." Of course, she completely left out the whole bit about her being a girl and therefor having longer hair was a normal thing.

A shadow passed over the three riders as Aerimeth passed over them. She touched down a ways off from them so as not to cover them all with snow. She scratched out a dip in the snow and sat, turning a thoughtful eye on D'sol. A polite nod was made in his direction. Her rider seemed to like him, so she would as well.

((failllllllllllllllllll XP sorry))

D'sol raised a sarcastic eyebrow at the greenriders vainity comment. Sometimes the smith wished he could be vain. But working around fire, molten metal and smoke and ash all day sort of defeated the purpose. He was lucky if he could take a long enough bath with sweet sand to get the stench off of his skin and the blackness scrubbed from his pores. He loved his job though, knowing in part that he was responsible for the safety of all the other riders at Aleyeska. Especially Kimara.

"I just don't understand how either of you can stand having so much hair stuffed up under your riding helmets. That has got to get hot and sticky during a long threadfall."

He took off his huge fluffy hood and rubbed a large calloused hand over his short cropped hair. His whole life revolved around heat and so being out in this cold was really something else. But it meant he could meet new people and spend more time with his now favorite green rider so he was ok with it.

Binth are you awake yet?

He inquired of his dragon. The blue really aught to be getting up soon. He knew Binth needed the rest but it was really about time that Kimara and her green met him. Especially since he was sure finally that the feelings he had for the girl were not going to go away any time soon.

I am now. What is it.

There is a very beautiful green over here that I would like you to meet. And her rider.

You know you already have my approval. I need my sleep.

fine, when your ready to be social we would be ever so graced with your presence.

"He's still too tired. Binth will be over when he's ready." D'sol said with a hearty chuckle.

A'rien raised his eyebrows, a small smile growing. Was there something going on here between the scary smith and the other green rider? He almost laughed, but managed to stop the impulse just barely.

I wonder if I'm getting in the way of young love?
He thought dryly. Maybe we should leave, Magipyth.

His green's response was quick and puzzled. I do not know why this upsets you. I wish to meet more dragons.

Is that your final answer?

We will stay. Magipyth said firmly. A'rien shook his head, amused. He was usually the one trying to get his shy dragon to stick around, but he supposed his green did like meeting new dragons. She just didn't like other riders. Anyway, I'm not upset about it. It's just... odd. He tried to think of a way to explain human awkwardness to his dragon, but the only thing he could think of even close was two greens trying to fly at the same time, which wasn't like being the third wheel at all. Finally, he gave up.

Staying?

Yes, mine,
He gave her a small smile, As long as you wish. Maybe I can keep these horny wyerlings in line.

I do not understand. They are not wyerlings, they have fully grown dragons.

A'rien snickered at his own joke and his poor Magipyth's reaction, trying to hide his growing grin behind his hands. It didn't quite work.

"I guess it's just something you get used to, especially when you're one of the 'vain' ones." Kimara laughed, shooting A'rien a sideways look and a grin. She crossed her hand behind her head, interlocking her fingers. "I think I might have cut it for my first turn as a rider. I couldn't stand it so short though, so I just spent as much time with my gear on to get used to the feeling. I hardly even notice it anymore." she laughed at the memories of her first few turnes with her Aerimeth. How long ago it all seemed now. "Call me what you will for it, but that's the way I like it." A large, teasing smirk was shown brightly to D'sol. She knew the smith would understand her joke.

Aerimeth watched the three riders calmly from her place in the snow. She found it interesting to watch the three in their conversations for some reason, though what that reason was, she couldn't tell.

Kimara straightened up again. " He doesn't need to rush, we can wait." she assured D'sol. She did look forward to meeting the blue, but she had time to spare. He didn't need to drag himself up just to sit out in the cold so she could meet him.

'I wish to meet this Binth.' Aerimeth snorted the collecting ice crystals from her nostrils.

Patience, dearest. He will be here soon enough. You can wait politely. Kimara lightheartidly reprimanded her dragon.

She caught the look on A'rien's face, something that likely equated to a conversation with his dragon. It looked like he was a little uncomfortable out here with them. "So A'rien, how have you and your Magipyth been? I can't say I've seen too much of you two lately." she asked, trying to start a friendly conversation with the other greenrider.

"Hmm. We've been avoiding people to be honest," Adrien admitted bluntly. No point blocking the truth, he always thought. It was a harper trait to be honest (or at least he'd always thought that it was). Though he tended to hide any emotions that made him seem 'weak' as that had got him in trouble when he was younger, he never, ever softened his words. Adrien's eyes darkened. There had been a point in time when he had been seen around more often, when he had a wyermate. But there'd been a couple of nasty days, and he and Magipyth had retreated into their old wyer alone for about a turn. They'd never recovered. Oh, who was he kidding? He hadn't recovered, Magipyth could care less.

I do care. I care about you.

Thanks, little lady. Adrien smiled as he felt her support, a peaceful calm presence. He steadied himself. The looser wasn't worth dragon poop anyway, no use getting upset. Besides it hadn't been a big event in the wyer, which had bigger problems, so he doubted either of these two would understand if he started ranting about it. Better not.

"We're doing well, though," Adrien said, "Magipyth is in her prime, threadfall's no problem for her. She almost enjoys it, I'd say. Though I'm not sure if I can say the same!"

D'sol nodded at the other greenriders words. He knew what it was like to be on a lively dragons back. Binth lived for threadfall. The blue pair normally being one of the first sets to be geared up and ready to go. Shivering D'sol took a step closer to Kimara bringing her in for a tighter hug this time. Still keeping his hands in all the appropriate spots of course. He didn't want to seem overly forward or anything. But he did like the feeling of having her around. After listening to A'rien on how the man had been avoiding people all D'sol could do was nod. "I know that one lad. Been keepin' myself pent up in the forgecavern for far too long. Wasn't until this lady here said something that I realized I had been doin' it either."
