Okay this is just a little something I thought up, though it may possibly be in the wrong section. I thought if anyone has any abbrevations, terms, phrases or unusually spelled words that they relate to the Ace Lightning fandom they could post it here - like a nice little definitions collumn for newbies or anyone who knees to know a manning os some kind. Like a dictionary Feel free to add to the Fictionary. E.g's. to start us off. AL: Acronym. Ace Lightning, series and character abbreviation, SGoD: Acronym for "Super Glove of Doom" Fanon term for the weapon Mark used in series two, probably can't be applied to canon. Speshul: Delib. Misspelling. A term used to describe a character's unique abilities or powers which bear resembalance to Mary Suesque qulities. IITS: Acronym for "it's in the script" - somewhat of an avoidant term used to describe moments in canon which seem confusing or errenous in some ways. While we tend to like to think of meta and subtexts to explain events in canon which were implausible or created holes in the plot, the more general reason for these holes is that, basically, the writers couldn't be bothered to fully explain the plotholes and would do so just by saying "it's in the script, that's just the way it is, so go with it."

Cool. I'll add to it, some of these being rather obvious: Bitchiwitch, Sparklypoo, Tootsietramp, Qanon Reip: Four classifications of Harry Potter Mary-Sues ( Pottersues), referring to the angsty/cruel/evol variety, the speshul/sparkly/bubbly variety, the 'just want to get laid' variety (ie. Kat, her purpose being to become Mark's Perfect Girlfriend), and those masquerading under a canon character's name (eg. Sparx is a lost princess with secret powers greater than Kilobyte and Ace's heart). Evol: Deliberate misspelling of "evil", to reflect a Suethor's spelling. femslash: romantic relationship between two female characters, eg. Sparx/LI. KB: Kilobyte. LI: Lady Illusion. LF: Either Lord Fear or the fan LightningFlash. Should be obvious from context which one is referred to. Mary-Sue: Annoying character seizing the spotlight of a story. non-con: non-consensual sexual relationship. slash: romantic relationship between two male characters, usually identified by a slash between the names, eg. Kilobyte/Ace. Sueish: Adjective meaning irritatingly perfect, powered, or attention-stealing. Suethor: Writer of Mary-Sues. tentacleporn, tentaclepr0n: tentacles being used for sexual purposes, usually something joked (or sometimes taken seriously) about with Kilobyte.

META: can be directly translated as "beyond": a definition for the messages, ideas and theories developed by fans that exist beneath the surface of the show - in other words, including the possible racial arguements, underlying themes and stereotypes, and the personal beliefs of the characters theories on how they might behave and how things COULD be, rather than what's proven as fact
Also defined as: "Something on an abstraction level higher than the current. To go meta means to take a step back and look at the bigger picture - which can be done indefinitely in an arbitrary number of ways." and
"A prefix used in computer science meaning "relating to" or "based on." For example, a metadirectory would be a directory relating to, or about directories. More simply put, a directory of directories."
which I think also qualify.
Subtexts: The unspeaken thoughts and possible motives of a character. The deeper and usually unexpressed "real" meanings of spoken lines or actions - if the viewer can 'read between the lines'. I.e. Ace;s line to LI in series one "still wanna brag baout your ppower, playmate" can be read deeper into back stories and possible history between the characters. Subtexts are always fun to play with. This fandom alone includes Beastality, Tentaclepr0n and non-con.

Canon: Events which transpired within the cnext of the Ace Ligtning show, from Ep one, series one, "The Game Begins" Canon events have been laid down by the shows writers and producers and were acted out in the actual episode.
Fanon: The theories and ideas laid down by the fans of the show rather than the producers and writers. More accurately it is events which are assumed, often as truth, by the fans of the show, but which have not actually been clearly proven or stated in the show. For example, The idea that Random Virus was an intelligent character invovled with technology, possibly an engineer before his program damage, and possibly also the fanon idea (cerated by Sarah Frost) that Lady Illusion would have the first name "Elspeth", are not actually proven in the show. But the dieas have circulated so much they have become widely accepted as a form of truth and have become Fanon.

RW: Acronym- Real World: The world otuside of fandom which distracts us from the entertainment of fanfics, fandoms and RP on a constant basis. RP: Acronym- Role Play: Situation in which fans take on the roles of series characters, or their own OC's in a fantasy adventure situation. As defined in a google search: "participants adopt characters, or parts, that have personalities, motivations, and backgrounds different from their own. Role-playing is like being in an improvisational drama or free-form theatre, in which the participants are the actors who are playing parts" The Ace lightning RP community is located here. PB: Acronym- Plot Bunny/Bunnies: a name given to those niggly little ideas from which stories and fanfics are born. Plot bunnies are those single, niggling ideas for stories - single themees, ideas or "what if's" thast get stuck in your mind and refuse to go away. The term probably originates from a quote by a writer, John Adams: "Ideas are like rabbits - You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and the next thing you know, you've got a dozen."
