Rather than clogging up other threads with my ramblings I've decided to put everything about my remake in here.

Notes so far...

* Ace Lightning and the Carnival of Doom is the third and latest game in the Ace Lightning series.

* The final conflict of the series will affect the whole world.

* Not sure if I'll write in script form or just usual creative writing form.

*There will be around 85 to 103 episodes if it will be done in script form. 17 episodes per series with 5 or 6 series in total.

I'm currently about to watch a series which has around 56 episodes yet fits in a deep narrative and strong character developments and backgrounds for ideas and pacing ie.

Cool! biggrin.gif I'll be very interested to see how this develops.

Personally I prefer reading creative writing form to script form in fanfics--creative writing form gives more of a chance to describe things and look at the characters' points of view. I think if the output is going to be a written work, then it may as well be properly-written work; a script is just a step toward an audiovisual output, so without that output it seems incomplete compared to a story.

Yeah, I think you are right. Creative Writing will also be easier- with script form I'll have to do all the "INT. MARK'S HOUSE-DAYLIGHT" stuff and write all the camera angles and more. And again like you said it'll be easier to describe things with the characters and such.

It all depends also on my computer which has been stuffing up a lot lately. But I guess I can write on note pads and then type it on the computer as well.

Here is an idea I told Rotgut that I probably won't add

*Fear was once a humanoid being (I guess like a mad scientist) that got turned into his skeleton form.

And another that I also probably won't add in...

*Fear has been to our 'dimension' before and has a personal agenda when he's back that none of the other characters know of.

On THIS forum? We're all mad here, as the ceshire cat said tongue.gif

It looks really ambitious and awesome, Staffhead. My advice, however, would be to make each "series" self contained, so that you can stop if you get tuckered out at episode 53 wink.gif

Hi guys, I'm not sure I'll be able to come here that often anymore. It's just turned HUGE. It's do with my parents and seperating most probably. My leadership group said I should write some of the Ace story as homework so I guess that'll take my mind off things. They are also cutting of the Internet connection so I'll only be able to chat when I'm at the Library.

Hope to speak soon...

Yes; writing can often help you when you feel you need to get feelings onto paper, or to distract yourself. I'm sorry to hear about your parents. Separating is often the best thing when they feel they can't agree, but it sucks to be caught in the middle.

Hope you regain an internet connection one of these days, and hope to speak via the library.

I know what your going through Staff. And like I said, everything works out in the end.

And I know that working on something you love certainly helps take your mind of things.

Thanks, guys. I was a little hesitant at first because I still feel so new here. You've made me eat my words so to say. I really appreciate it. I'll try and get something out by next week. Just in the brainstorming session mainly now.
smile.gif

I may write it in six acts with 4 arcs per act. A lot of work but I feel like writing something 'epic'.

Finally started some writing. When doing so I wandered if the Amulet splitting into 7 pieces was a nod to Dragonball.

I'd call the amulet splitting into seven pieces as just a use of 7 as a magic number: see Wiki on the symbolism of seven. Seventh child of a seventh child is a wizard, that sort of thing; it's a standard number and it's just a coincidence that both fandoms (and many others) chose to use it.

Yeah, certain numbers have conventional associations to them. Seven is the symbol of luck (though that's either in china), three is the symbol of... well just generally things occuring, both good and bad (you;ve heard the saying "these things awlways come in threes"?), 22 is the number of psychic potential, four is... I think four's meant to be back luck, actually. As is 13.

Plus seven is a nice round number. it's not too high (i.e. not double figured) and not too low. smile.gif

Amazing how much history such things like numbers have.

I've written the scene after the Evils appear in the real world for the first time so far. I've changed a few things. Such as Fear's line "We need those pieces to exit this dimension" to simply "We need those pieces". Because I'd like to develop a history for the Amulet and I don't know what it is yet.

I also try to delve into his mind a bit. It's hard because he's just a computer game character. His development will be based on the other games in the Ace series I'm writing and his interactions in the real world too.
It's proving very addictive too, I've forgotten how much fun writing can be.

I may also change some of his abuse that he gave to Duff in the series to Illusion in the book more specifically the line "You come when I say and you go where I say".

Oooh, that all sounds good. biggrin.gif A developing history of the amulet sounds great, as does Fearintrospection.
