I'll copy and paste that explanation for that green panel on page 7, as it really doesn't explain what's going on XD

"it's Lord Fear's memory, and he's remembering hallucinating in his madness and anguish. The image of Lady Illusion appears before him, and he embraces her, her being the only thing left in his broken mind that's recognisable. His grief causes him to inadvertently cast the magic that causes her current situation, and the use of such powerful magic helps to un-cloud his mind and rationalise his thinking. He's not entirely aware how it all worked though, since he wasn't all there himself, so even if he hadn't drained so much of his power bringing her back, he does not have the knowledge to repeat the process, or reverse it. Not that Lady Illusion is aware of all this either, she's certain that he's lying, and as usual, his deed is part of some plot to get the Amulet."

and as an explanation to what that means for Lady Illusion;

"He's so overcome by his insanity she's the only image his twisted mind can remember, and he clings to it. It's at that moment that he brings her back. It's unintentional, and unnatural, so it doesn't work properly; she comes back as somewhat of a shadow of her former self. She's material, but has no real connection any more to her body, she hasn't the sense of touch, or understanding of temperature, etc. That's one reason why she's so mad. She can see the world around her, but she can't be a part of it at all. Nor can she go onto whatever comes after death. Lord Fear has inadvertently trapped her in a sort of limbo, tied to his existence, which of course, is immortal (Or so everyone seems to think )."

Finally, the explanation for all the excessive violence tongue.gif
"She is being pretty forceful with him. But death was going to be a welcome release from all his abuse to her, and now he won't even allow her that. Plus, since she can no longer feel pain, there won't be a consequence for challenging his authority, so she takes the opportunity.

He cries out her real name from shock When he goes to meet her that night, he's expecting retribution for his previous actions (which is why he doesn't take Staffhead, and why he doesn't fight back), but he didn't expect such harsh retribution."

There we have it then, my idea for a series 3 overall story arc smile.gif

"I always had a soft spot for cosplaying."

I think the only character Lord Fear could really imitate is either Skeletor or the Red Skull.

That's the guy.

I drew a sketch of Googler.

user posted image

He is supposed to look like a nutcase from an asylum (White Hot Oblivion), as I always thought his shirt looked like a loosened straightjacket. I originally had the idea that his shell had been nailed into his back, but I decided to just give him straps so he could curl into the ball more easily. You may have noticed I changed his face a bit, and he has a metal mouthplate. I imagined his mask was a face thing like Hannibal Lector has, but he lost the mouthplate at some point before being summoned by Lord Fear. I always made his sockpuppets look for puppet like, and added stitches to them - I don't know if you'll be able to see the whole detail of the sketch but please enjoy.

Awesome drawing Rotgut. I love your idea about the face mask being similar to Hannibal Lector. Makes Googler seem even more menacing then before!

Now just imagine if Googler went up against Hannibal Lector! nuts.gif

Great stuff, Rotgut.

I always took White Hot Oblivion as in just being utterly annihilated. But I like how you've made it a place and gave Googler some back story.

That face was always kinda demented and creepy.

Thank you! laugh.gif

I always imagined White Hot Oblivion as a sort of hellish dimension, with fire and all that. But I don't think even the Lightning Knights would toss a villain into a place like that. So I reimagined WHO as an asylum for the crazies or mentally disturbed, like Googler and possibly Random. WHO is just a nickname created by the convicts and staff. ninja.gif

But as my memory tells me, Googler talked of sending Sparx into WHO, so perhaps it isn't just for crazies or the mentally disturbed.

I don't recall Googler sending Sparx to WHO, he just said he made her a gonner. Ace confirmed she went back to the Sixth Dimenson. tongue.gif
