When ABC 3 launches in a few months,
who will kindly record any Ace Lightning shows if it airs?
I have a VCR, but don't have the VHS to DVD software.

I'm sure on of you may have a digital recorder, a TiVo (best option), or a DVD recorder.
If this show airs again, someone has to be ready to tape the FIRST series.
The first series Sarah uploaded is nice, but it'd be convenient to have iPod format, etc.

recording from abc is great because u have no ads during the show.

So, I want someone to digitally record the FIRST season of AL (if it airs).
and then upload it so we can all watch it.

I've got a bad feeling all they will air is everything that's being played on the channel currently...

Well even if they do air the same shows, they still need MORE shows to fill up a daily viewing. 6am to 9pm, they'll have to air repeats of shows.
And they said they'll relicense old shows, so we can be certain SOME shows will be back.

if they air rubbish shows, I WILL COMPLAIN to themLIKE HELL about how fed up i've become as I thought the creation of this channel will get my trust back in them. and the kinds of shows theyd be viewing.

This is what happens when there's no ads on the channel. They have to keep tight budgets by showing the rubbish we see today.

I certainly hope they have some older shows ie Farthing Wood.

If I can get the satellite on my computer working again I should be able to record episodes. But don't hold your breathe.

Farthing Wood scared me. I was upset when Badger and Mole died.

And going off-topic is probably against the rules in this one as well, but as long as people are still enjoying the conversation, I think it's okay for our small group to chat. wink.gif

Aww Sarah you've softened up in the last few years wink.gif

Farthing wood scared the pants off me, too, incidentally.

I would gladly record it if I were in that country and able to, but alas... sad.gif we british get EVERYTHING last (I seem to recal thinking kilobyte was a FAN character, because australia got it before we did...)

Seeing the new previews for ABC3 has me worried...

When Series 2 premiered here in Australia I remember reading the character listings on the end credits because it always spoiled all the new characters names before they were introduced.

IS Kilobyte really a fan character? Interesting.
I've never seen a preview for ABC 3.

No... Why would you think that? If anything he's an improved design of a character called Scrambler who looks like Kilobite just without all the tattoos and a more menacing looking face.

The ABC3 adds have been on a lot lately on the ABC.

You can only record from a digital channel with a digital recorder. It really bites because the digital channels are showing shows I would love to at least tape to watch several times over.

They used to advertise Ace Lightning like crazy when it was first coming on.

*glomphs allison* tongue.gif

Did they really advertise it hugely? I guess it must';ve flopped. Shame really. I keep having these "I could've done better" moments, but I knowe that's arrogant and presumptuous of me. Besides, I guess if Ace had been more popular it might never havebeen the show we love.

They advertised it quite a bit for the first Series. Nothing at all for the second except after a repeat of 'Game Over' aired they had a voice-over saying a new series would be starting the next day. I thought it was a joke until 'Upgrades' premiered.

I can remember them using Rat's line 'This isn't some kiddy show'.

Then after 'The Master Plan' aired they said Ace would be back the next year (2005) which sadly became forever...

XD I love Ghostbusters~!

Well, that's a shame my VCR won't be able to record things on digital TV.

This new ABC 3 channel seems to be pretty cool by the looks of the advertisements. TV hosts in their youth years... something I've been waiting for ages on free-to-air TV. Not that silly Elliot guy. He's a total immature jerk.

I hope this new channel will be decent. I see they have the good-game host on that new channel as a host. I hope they have more Good Game as well biggrin.gif

Does anyone remember that defunct channel ABC Kids? That was pretty good actually. Too bad they were short in funding back then.

I also wish to get into film as a writer, actor, or director.

As for ABC3 the hosts look like the same as any host on any other kids show to me. Check out Toasted TV, Saturday Disney (although I don't mind Sally Stanton in that), Kids WB. You'll see they all do pretty much the same thing.

ABC Kids had all the classics it's a shame it went.

Yeah. I wish they get those shows on that channel onto this new one.
It had really great shows. Funny how I spent quite some time watching that on pay-tv, when it is supposed to be a free channel.

Well... this channel seems to use teenage or young hosts. ToastedTV, saturday disney, and kids WB suck. It's all aimed at little kids. I'm really into things aimed at my age group. THIS CHANNEL BETTER BE GOOD! Otherwise I have made silly assumptions.

It reminds me of Studio-D hosts on the Disney Channel (I don't know if they still have Studio-D). That seemed pretty cool.

It's amazing how many new free-to-air channels have popped up this year in Australia. One HD, SBS 2, 7 Two, Go! and now ABC 3!
Still sucks how free-to-air ALWAYS has TV advertisements (expect for ABC).

I think they are aimed at what they think teenage kids like today...And that's why I'm worried. Toasted TV and the rest are still geared towards teenagers. They have teenage shows. I wish it was just kids shows and classic ABC shows.

I'm a little irked by 7-2. Trying to get people to buy Digital boxes so they can continue to watch all the new seasons of popular shows.
