-the first cover has allot to do with the gist of the plot, but the second, well i don't really know what to say, i mean granted its nice looking, i just feel like we have no idea what's really happening to li. she could be passing on or coming back

-because fear keeps on calling her 'snokums"(seriously how can anyone virtual or not hold down there lunch) ill just give my opinion on it. it both a little gross and a little hart worming at the same time. buuuut seeing as how i support ace/li i cant help but feel that natty is trying to bring them back toge-OH MY GODS THERE MAKING OUT HAS MADE IT POSABLE TO INVAID CANDY LAND,no wait i think thats the hows of illusion. where was i? oh yes, like she's trying to bring them back together hear, she can support whatever couple she likes but still. i guess i wouldn't mink seeing another one of these things again, for background reasons.

-ya know that dram sean we have with sparks kind of reminds me of when i was playing nancy drew the curse of black more manner. and the game decided to takes on an acid ride of a nightmare, why? i have know idea, but i looked into it and this dose have a perps so i let it slide

-wait i need some clearness on this. ace has been searching for amulet pieces (like fear should have been doing) but HE never thought of using them, well in his defenc maybe mark told him about the programer and he wanted to use the ful power of the amulit to get both rick and li out of the 6d. thad make sence seeing as how we never saw them use it for no more than 1 item/person.

natty hasn't finished the first comic but she did wright 2 pages of the 2nd comic so i thought id should say something about them

:D First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to do this review ilushon's folower! I'm glad to see my comic is so appreciated. :)

I think I answer a lot of your questions in my posts that accompany the pages, but in all honesty the point is that you don't know the answers right now, and you learn the answers later in the story when the characters start to meet up and explain everything. However, it looks unlikely I'll be able to finish this comic or the story afterwards, so I might as well post the answers again. :)

By second cover do you mean the one with both Fear and LI? Again, the vague nature of what is going on is vital to the story. At no point does Lord Fear say exactly what he has done. This comic is the same as the series in that it's largely from the point of view of the heroes (even if the villains do feature heavily in this intro) and they don't know what Fear has done.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Lord Fear and his senses - Lord Fear is not a physical being but more of a sentinent magical construct with the density to mimic physicality. He doesn't experience the world in the same way as the rest of the characters. His senses are based on magic. Being able to see the flame but not feel it represents the fact that his vision picks up the abstract and the non-physical. He can see the chemical reactions, and watch the energy interact with each other because thats part of his plane of existence. He does not feel the fire in the same way because human and other living creatures senses are again based on physical sensation. For standard living creatures, feeling the fire means feeling heat, or worse, feeling a burn. For him its feeling the chemicals (and magic if it is a magical fire) react with his 'exoskeleton' (outer layer of magical energy, serving a similar purpose as skin, whilst being invisible). This is why his limp and other injuries pain him, because they have interfered with his magical order. In the case of broken bones, those injuries have permanently altered his magic field, warping it. So to clear that up, he has senses, he can feel pain, but he does not experience those senses in the same way as living creatures, so he can hardly pretend to understand the same 'feeling' Lady Illusion is referencing.


On death for the CGI characters - I give you a clue with this in the fact that Rotgut bleeds in the Sixth Dimension, whereas he would fade in ours. Whether the 6D is virtual or not doesn't change the fact that for the CGI characters it is their reality, so to them, dieing has the same gravity. The other clue is the fact I sent the minions to the 6D. Every other time they have been defeated, they have remained on earth, so why all of a sudden do they return to the 6D this time? My answer is that Lord Fear, just as he distributes power to his minions when he has more Amulet pieces to do so, he also supports his minions power levels when they are defeated. The did not return to the 6D because Lord Fear would act as a constant anchor to this dimension, keeping them housed in those inanimate objects until he can give them/they gain enough energy to regain their physical forms. Lord Fear is the only character with the knowledge and power to do this. When he defeated his own minions, her purposefully let their strands return to the 6D because he needed to find out the situation in their homelands (the references to time running out, and the Lightning Knight's having won). When Lady Illusion was killed, he was in too much shock to remember to support her physical body, he only managed it in half bursts, which is what caused their current situation. The reason Lady Illusion wonders why she isn't dead is a combination of both not comprehending why Lord Fear would save her from death, thinking he despises her, and also because had she been killed in the 6D, she would be dead permanently. (Further to that, resurrected and otherwise undead creatures in the 6D are solely Lord Fear's doing and once again constructs of magic rather than true physical creatures)

On the leg stamping - Well I might be wrong, but I do believe that was his good leg she broke. It was my intention to make her break the good one, which is why he struggles more than usual with basic walking.

On the binding spell - Lord Fear has a great deal of control over the spell than he lets on, even if he pretends to be ignorant about it. Throughout the comic he demonstrates the ability to directly tap into her powers, and in the second comic he even blocks them (The bit when he says no teleporting - she is unable to hear him saying that, its just to demonstrate thats what he is blocking). The fact of the matter is he has now combined their coding (yep, another big twist there, he has worked out how to tamper with the way the game works himself, remotely), and should he choose to, he can exercise complete control over it, to the point of rewriting/deletion, or he can give her independance up to being on almost equal par. Currently he is somewhere between, blocking her from being able to sense anything through/from him unless it's beneficial for him to do so (for example, it's to his advantage to make her experience Ace's assault, but not to his advantage to allow her to know his knowledge and find out he has that final piece of the amulet already).

On the Lord Fear/Lady Illusion pairing - I'm sure it's more than a little obvious that I support it. However, I'm not going to negate two series' worth of relationship development for Ace/LI, so don't worry about that. My mini comic was just a bit of fluffy background story. Lord Fear's development throughout the two series, and yes, some of Illusion's suggests that they did once share a close and willing relationship. The fact that Lord Fear is so struck by her betrayal also suggests there was a deep trust between them, and I like to explore the past and the reasons why she forsakes it. So, just to reassure you, they will not be getting back together. My continuation of the series follows the Ace/LI pairing they've been establishing.

On the Amulet - The show establishes the fact that only Lord Fear can use the Amulet confidently and consistently. The few times other characters use it, it is either by accident or they show surprise at what they managed to do. I stick to that and have it so Ace can collect as many Amulet pieces as he wants and he still would not know how to use them to bring back LI. The Amulet is a magical artifact, not an object of science, just like Lord Fear, so only Lord Fear can utilise it's power with control.

On the Sixth Dimension - You don't need to have played the games to understand. If you had played the games the only thing that would be familiar is place name and designs. My explanation and backstory to the sixth dimension is separate from the very little the game established. There are no Lightning Knight airships in the game, and no mention of Lightning Knights other than Ace, Sparx and Random, so all of that material is what I have made up. Googler is in charge because he possesses far more cunning than the others, and his anger at Lord Fear for blasting them is the greatest. They are searching for a way back to Earth, though as I've said earlier, LF secretly wanted them there because he knew they would come back for him and he knew that through them he would be able to get an idea of what state their homelands are in without putting himself in danger. I have the Lightning Knights and the Carnival be huge warring factions. It isn't just Lord Fear and Ace battling, it's much larger than that. The war reached its climax just after Lord Fear and his minions were transported to earth. When the minions return to the 6D in my comic, they are shocked at how their homes have changed under Lightning Knight occupation.

Actually an easier way to answer all these questions is; 'Lord Fear is doing it for the personal gain'. If you don't know why something happens, think about what way it would be of advantage to Lord Fear and that's probably the reason :P

when i said second cover, i meant the one where lady illusion was surrounded by wight light and on her giant rat the one u described was the first one i meant. i thank u for those spoilers that u cave me. (but in my opinion those are more of explanations than they are spoiler, in my definition of a spoiler is reviling later points in the story, which i saw none of) and i think i should be a little more on that "death is arguable" line, u see i would believe that if a caricature died back in 6d the death is permanent, i meant when they die hear that its arguable. take for example sparks when she died (pretty early in her apartness if i might say) she was sent back to the game, they even say so.

I think you must be mistaken, I never drew her riding on Snappie as a cover. :)
They're spoilers because it isn't information you're supposed to know yet. Surely you can see that knowing the exact nature of the link and realising that Lord Fear is mere energy has a huge bearing on the story. This is stuff that would be revealed later.
I explained the deaths in my previous post though. Lord Fear is the one responsible for whether characters go back to the 6D or not. That's why Sparx did get sent back - after all, why would he save her? But he does prevent his minions from going back when he wants to, that's the point. In this case he doesn't want to, and they return to the Sixth Dimension just like Sparx did.

:( I am sorry guys, it's just not plausible for me to continue. I'm working on my own original graphic novels and projects now, and will continue to do so from here on out. Please by all means feel free to check them out. They don't have eccentric skeletons, spidery shapeshifters or a military force based on electricity but I'm hoping they're just as exciting.

It is a shame for me to have to make this decision, because I loved telling the story I had thought up - but with the last page being dated from back in May, it was time to stop kidding myself that I'd have time to do it. Like I said, I'll have a think about making a post with the entirety of the plot written down, so that there's at least some closure for the story. :)
