Do you mean avatars/signatures?

I don't do it myself--no talent for art--but with image editing programs even as simple as Paint it's not too hard to instruct the computer to crop it down and get a bit of text written across it. It takes talent to do it in a non-blurry fashion; I now use other people's 'tars.

I usually only stick Acefic and art in my LJ memories, but that's only because there seem to be such a lot of avatars posted. Lightning Flash uses this LJ to post icons and pictures for various fandoms, like here (colourbars), and here (Ace avatars). Shadowcat does much the same thing; here and here are some of her work. Scarab Dynasty has a deviantART page here, and links to other Ace fan's pages in her favourites and watchers.

I'm sure one the artists around would make you a signature/'tar for the asking. :)
