Now, to roleplay you must know the basics. So, below I posted them. ALWAYS follow these tips when roleplaying, and guaranteed, you will have a better experience on our forums.

1. Alright to start. Nobody likes One liners or double posters. They suck
and are hard to reply to. Never post one lined replies. Which is why there is a minimum word per post limit on this forum, as well as many others. NEVER double post. It sucks, and your posts will be deleted.

2. Second, Always post in third person!
*Good Example: Aris walked in the room He was unhappy to be here.
*Bad Example: I walked into the room, I was unhappy to be here.

3. Stay Active!!! Inactivity is pathetic, if roleplaying is too time consuming, then dont bother doing it. If you become more than 10 days inactive, without giving notice as to why you are not active, your account will be deleted.

4. When you post, whatever your character does not say, the other person cannot comment on. Just because they can read it, does not mean their character is aware of it.

5. When Roleplaying on ANY forum, at least have 30-40 words in your post. This way, it is easy to reply to you.

6. Dont be afraid to post whats on your mind. Nobody will make fun of you for it.

7.. When posting try and be as descriptive as possible, it gives everyone a better feel of whats going on.

8. Try not to say the characters name too much when posting, it makes it difficult to understand what your saying, and gets annoying.
*Bad Example- Jane was walking. Jane was also drinking her drink. Jane wondered why she was so depressed, who knows though, maybe it was just herself. Just Jane.
--This obviously is a difficult post to understand. The name is used so frequently that is is hard to understand what the author is trying to say.

*Good Example- Jane was walking down the sidewalk drinking her drink. She was depressed lately and couldnt find the reason why...perhaps it was just herself.

--As you can see, the post is written using her name only once, and the writing is much easier to read and understand.

9. You can always post what your character thinks, in FIRST person in italics or bold.
Example:
I wonder if shes single...she does have nice hair

10. NEVER godmod. This means in your post, never say what another
person is doing.
*BAD Example: Aris smiled and smacked Lita, she ran away crying.
*Good Example: Aris smacked Lita, unsure of what she would do.

--That sucks, and is very annoying. Yes, you can hit a character but
give them a chance to respond.

11. If there is a topic going on between two different people, please ask
them for permission before posting in there. On here, we do not
have a rule for that, but its just courtesy.

12. You can have a relationship between characters. Being a mature
individual, I have allowed everyone the permission to post their
characters having intercourse. If you take part in such, do not
describe it fully, we dont want to know every detail.

13. Never kill yours/someone elses character, without contacting an admin first.

14. Nobody likes a dramatic character. Yes, your parents may have been killed or something but dont act all sulky and 'poor me' all the time.

15. Do not use any *'s, .:'s or any other symbol to express your characters movements/actions. Just write what their doing.
*Good Example: Aris walked down the hall, quietly humming to himself.
*Bad Example: *Aris Walked down the Hall*

16. Always read the Rules before even posting.

17. To know whats currently going on, I suggest you read the Plot Begins forum.

18. If you would like to plot something, with a character or a group or by yourself, post it under the plot section in OOC.

19. You may use a plot anywhere and if you need Canon Characters then you may post what you need under the Canon Characters section.

20. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have your character talk like you would on AIM, its annoying and stupid.
*GOOD Example: "I'll have a butterbeer Please and Thanks."
*BAD Example: "ill hve a btrbr plz n thx."

21. No Powerplaying, This means if your character gets hit/casts a spell on someone else/ etc., they can block it, just not every single time. They can hit someone but the person may not get hit every single time. I dont know how much I have to stress this, It is a board rule, and if you get caught you will be suspended.

22. The OOC section is OUT OF CHARACTER. DO NOT POST ANYTHING IN CHARACTER IN THIS SECTION

23. Interact and rp with as many people as possible. This way you will stay active and always have something to do. DO NOT HOWEVER post in every topic you see, I hate scrolling down the board index and seeing somebodies name written under just about EVERY topic title. This is considered Spamming, and will result in a warning.

24. IMPORTANT!! If you are threading somewhere with someone and dont want intruders, SAY SO in your topic title. I cannot count the numerous times on many boards people have pmed me pissed off at another rper. I DO NOT want to see/hear you complaining about it. It is not a rule, but if you complain Im not going to be nice.

25. FIX AND USE GRAMMAR!! This lets us know you put effort into your posts.

26.In a post, do not use he/she for EVERYTHING. You can use names too, thats what their for.
*BAD ex- He walked down the hall. And saw a girl. "Hello" He says, not
thinking what she is going to say to him.
*GOOD ex- Aris walked down the hall, and saw Lita. "Hello" He said, not sure
of what she was going to reply with.

27. ALSO do not refer to what they are doing in the present. This is in third person, you DO NOT need to write it as it happens. Picture yourself writing a story, not a diary entry.
*BAD ex- He sees her and smiles, "Hello Lita" Aris says, as he walks down the
hall, and looks at the paintings.
*GOOD ex- He saw her and smiled, "Hello Lita" Aris said, as he walked down the
hall, looking at the paintings.

28. IF AN ADMIN REFERS YOU TO THIS TOPIC, I SUGGEST YOU READ THROUGH IT! DO NOT TAKE IT OFFENSIVE!!! It is simply because you need help roleplaying. THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, if you suck at roleplaying, nobody wants to thread with you.

29. When Posting, try to follow your characters personality.

30. Its always good to recruit members for a site. It gives you more people to roleplay with, and makes your experience on the forum, more entertaining.
