On every forum, there is a rules thread. Whether the Rules are short and simple, or long and complex, there is a reason for each and every one of them. The admin's on this forum have much experience Roleplaying, and have worked hard to bring you yet another exciting rp forum.

With that said, they expect the majority of Roleplayers on this forum to act Maturely, following all rules and guidelines.

** Your username on this forum is your Character's name. You must have a First and a Last name for your Characters name. AOL type names are not permitted, and will result in a warning and a name change. For example, Rian Young is a suitable format for your Username; ryoung33 is not. If you are going to be a Professor, DO NOT PUT PROFESSOR in your name!! You must apply for a professor position, You will be accepted based on how well we thing you will do as a roleplayer. Once you are accepted as a Professor, we will change your name to say Professor, for you.


** As you know, there is a CBOX located on the bottom center of the page, on every page. This gives the members on our forum the opportunity to chat with eachother at any time they wish. It is strongly enforced that there is to be limited Profanity on the CBOX. However, a few words here and there are acceptable, just don't make a habit of it. We are a mature forum, and our members will act Maturely.
Do not chat in the Cbox talking like you would on AIM. It is very annoying trying to read typing that says, "'soz i sayz he is gr8 and he says thnx do u think its funny LOLOL!!!11111 " Nobody can understand a thing you are saying, and honestly, with a post like that, nobody wants to. Chat in the CBOX like you would talk.

Anything Posted in the CBOX that does not abide by these rules, will be deleted, and you may possibly lose your Chat Privileges.

** Advertising is always welcomed on this forum. In the OOC forum, you can find a thread to post Advertisements to other forums, sites, etc. Of course, you must be an active member on our forum to post an Advertisement. It is strongly suggested that you follow the guidelines located in the OOC thread before Posting an advertisement. You ARE NOT to post ANY Ad's in the CBOX at ANY time. If you are found spamming the CBOX with your Ad's your message will be deleted and you will be banned from using the CBOX immediately.

Failure to follow any Advertisement Rule will result in the removal of your post(s).

** Fighting, Ranting, Arguing, etc. is to be done via a PM. There is no need to argue back and forth in the CBOX or in a thread. If you and another member disagree about something and find the need to argue or rant about it, do so privately. Handle it through pm. If it gets bad, feel free to pm any admin (they are listed top left) and we will see what we can do. Any posts in the CBOX or in a thread, with a fight, will be deleted and you will be warned.

** The Warning system on this forum is different than those on other Forums. There have been many cases in the past, with members that did not want to act according to our rules. The rules on this forum are simple rules that you would find on most other forums. It is not hard to follow our rules, and so the administrators see it fit on this forum to enforce a Warning system for every user, regardless of their status or place on this forum.
There is a card system installed for every member. If a Moderator see's that you are not following rules, spamming, or doing anything that you should not be, than a request will be sent to an Administrator to give your account a Card. All requests will be reviewed by an admin before giving any warnings. Depending on the amount of cards you are given, your account may become limited as to what you can do on the forum.

THE CARD SYSTEM WILL FOLLOW OUR THREE-STRIKE POLICY

Once you have been warned by an Administrator or Moderator, THREE times (or given 3 cards), you will be placed under our Three Strike Policy. This Policy states, After you have been warned Three Times, you will no longer be given warnings, you will be given Strikes. Once you reach 3 Strikes, a ban will be put in effect, disabling you from using our forums until the time period is up. This Ban will depend on the seriousness of the situation, and if we think you will return from your ban and behave according to our Policies.
Once you reach 3 strikes, and 3 Cards, you will be automatically banned from our forums for good.
-No exceptions.

** On this forum, you will notice that under your avatar there is an area which says 'Galleons: $0'. Galleons on the forum are given according to your posts. For every post you have on the forum you will earn .50 Galleons. Galleons are used for a few purposes. For example, You may only Advertise if you have at least 25 Galleons on your account. Or If you want to become an Administrator, you must have at least 200 Galleons, etc. If you would like your Character to have a job in Hogsmeade, You will be given Galleons according to your job. If you wish to purchase items for your Character to have, you wil use your Galleons.

This is simply a system to make your roleplaying experience as entertaining as possible.

** Knowing how to roleplay is important on a forum. There are many people who like to roleplay but don't exactly know how. For this reason a thread has been posted labeled, "How to Roleplay". The thread lists the basics and instructs you on how we recommend you roleplay on our Forum.

** Plots. There are always Plots on every board you visit. You will find a forum Plot, and Character Plots, guaranteed. The purpose of a Plot is to make the roleplayer aware of what is happening in the RPG, such as the setting, the surroundings, the time period, etc. And to create a story that will be developed by many other members. Remember, this is a Harry Potter based, Role Playing Game (RPG). This is a Game, and you are playing it. The purpose is for you to have fun, and by using plots, the roleplayer becomes involved in the rpg, making it more entertaining.

You may post Character Plots in the OOC Forum. You may also find the forum plot in the Platform 4 3/9 Category. This will tell you information about our forum.

** You are REQUIRED to post a Character Biography for every Character you bring into this forum. There are Designated Area's for you to post your Character Bio, depending on if you are a student or Professor.

** Avatars and Signatures exist on this forum.
It is suggested that every member have an avatar. An avatar is a picture located under your username in all of your posts. It is meant to show what your character looks like. You may use any picture of any person for your avatar. Just make sure if you use a celebrity, you must post in the Avatar Claim thread.
If your character is a student, You MUST have your Year, and House, somewhere in your signature. If you are a Professor, you must place what Class you are a Professor of, in your signature.
A signautre can be e a banner, with pictures of your character and writing, or just writing. It is entirely your choice.

** We like to use names on this board, in the OOC threads for our members. For example:

Headmaster R. Young
and
Henry Wagner
are Mike

Draven Pickens
is Zach

You are NOT to use a last name when using your Name in the CBOX or in OOC. This is for safety Purposes. You are NOT REQUIRED to use your name at all, it is simply just something that we are used to doing.

** Please, it is stressed, no Powerplaying or God Moding.
Godmoding is when you are threading (roleplaying) with another character, and in your posts you describe them performing a specific action in which they did not post themselves doing.
Example:

This is an example of Godmoding, simply because the active character in the post (aris) is also writing what Lita (the inactive) character is doing. You CANNOT write what another character is doing.

Powerplaying, is when a character is seemed to be invincible and simply the best, compared to any other.

Example

You cannot have your character never hurt, never sick, and just simply invincible from everything. Remember, nobody is Perfect, and neither is your character.


If you are seen doing either of the above, you will be given a card and warned, not to mention, you will be forced to edit your post, to fix the problem.
