Name: Raziel M. Keith

Age: 3,408 but looks to around 17
Grade: 10th
Birthdate: Doesn’t remember his....February 19th
Race Djinn

Sex: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual

Country of Origin: Iran

Appearance: Raziel is 6’4”, weighs 160lbs, and also has a slim figure...in his human form. As a human, Raziel has wavy very dark brown hair he tries to brush back and out of his face. His eyes are a charming golden green color and his features elegant. Raziel tries to dress as professionally as he can. He knows how strange it is for a human teenager to dress this way so he’s conformed for Panaru. He wears typical jeans and typical shirts. But, whenever he isn’t going to class, he’ll try to wear his formal suits, shirts, and shoes. It’s just the way he likes to dress.
In his djinn form, Raziel is the same height and same weight. The only things that change about him are his physical features. His skin turns a light blue and his hair follows suit. The whites of his eyes turn an eerie yellow as do his teeth. Raziel’s nose disappears and sew-like stitches form around his collar. His body hair grows and protrudes from his shoulders and feet. Raziel’s voice deepens considerably and his growls more often than not. That’s not to say that all djinn are like this. Most aren’t, but Raziel’s evil nature contorted him. When Raziel re-grows his human skin, it’s almost instantaneous and he’s usually naked. But, even this takes a little energy.

Overall, Raziel comes off as an elegantly relaxed individual. His body moves with smooth, almost unnatural, lazy grace. But, beneath his relaxed exterior lies a white-hot feral protective streak.

Personality: People misinterpret Raziel’s standoffish demeanor as dangerous when it’s really not true at all. After spending so much time with Panaru, she has rubbed off on him. Raziel is actually a fairly nice guy once you get to know him. Socially, Raziel is quiet and slightly withdrawn. His talking streak doesn’t last long. Raziel is very curt and to the point, except when it comes to Panaru. He doesn’t like to beat around the bush with other people. Raziel is very loyal to those who win him over…like Panaru for instance. He is very protective of her in fact. He regards all men with a certain air of distrust. His belief is that all men are trying to take Panaru away from him. Because of this, it takes Raziel longer to befriend males than females. He actually has a soft spot for women and young children. Raziel loves the fact that Panaru can cook so well and loves to eat. Ice cream is his favorite past time food and his favorite past time and is watching over Panaru. Again, he’ll never admit it. He has too much pride.

Powers: Although Raziel is a djinn with extensive powers, he can never willingly harm another. Because of this, Raziel is weak physically but mentally he is hard as nails. Mental attacks do not work on Raziel at all. Contrary to popular belief, genies cannot just make items appear out of thin air. Though spells are instantaneous, it’s a win-lose situation. Should someone wish for a car, they would get it. But, somewhere else in the world, someone would be missing their car. Raziel cannot make someone love another or give them supreme power. But he can aid them in the art of love and show them the way to supreme power. Raziel chooses not to let his presence in this world be so well known so not many people know of him. But, should he fall into the right hands, he would prove to be either a great ally or your worst enemy.

His magic is not unlimited. Raziel chooses to give up his own energy most of the time to cast spells. He substitutes his own daily energy instead of taking away from others. So, say a person still wanted that car. Raziel would give up his energy to make a car. So it would initially come out of thin air. But, Raziel would be unable to do any other major spells until after his regained some energy (sleeping). When he gets tired, Raziel much recharge for a minimum of ten hours to be able to cast a spell again.

To be able to create an object using energy, Raziel needs to know the entire object inside out. For instance, the car again, Raziel would need to know what type of car, with what engine, etc, etc. Because Raziel must have an extensive knowledge of many things, he is always reading. But this is also the reason why he cannot interfere with love. He doesn’t understand it at all. Love cannot be made, and is an emotion. Raw power isn’t tangible and is natural. So don’t wish for it.

Raziel is limited to 3 spells (how original) a day, not including the regrowth of his human skin. Well, if he is fully charged, he is. The larger and/or more complex the wish, the more energy Raziel must use.

Skills: Raziel has an extensive knowledge of magic and fighting techniques. Though, he isn’t allowed to put either to use without Panaru’s permission or he’ll suffer dire consequences: the pain inflicted on someone else will be rebounded three times back to him.

History:
Djinn are like genies. Both are spirits of free will made of a smokeless fire created by God. Djinn are the pure race while genies are those who were made djinn by other djinn i.e. wishing to be djinn. Djinn have communities much like humans do. They eat, sleep, drink, get married, have rules, etc, etc. They are not as bound by energy as genies are and live a lot longer. Both species can die. The procedure is long, complicated, and ancient so not many know about it. But, if someone were to look hard enough, they would surely find texts explaining how to kill a djinn/genie. Most die from old age. For djinn, it is at least 10,000 years old. Genie’s typically die in half the time though they have been known to live longer. Djinn are not magically bound to objects unless a spell is placed on them. Genies are naturally bound to an object, another weakness they have that pure djinn don’t. While djinn can choose whether or not to grant wishes, genies have to.

Both species possess the ability to be good or bad. Raziel and his twin sister Mia were evil, which was why they were bound to dolls in the first place. They could only be controlled since they were stuck in the dolls. The only way they could be released was if someone voluntarily switched places with them. And, in order to switch places, the volunteers would have to be genie or djinn.

Raziel and his sister weren’t initially evil. They were born and lived like any normal djinn. They had parents, a home, and even schooling for their powers. But, it was the destruction of their home in Iran by war and famine that turned Mia first and then Raziel to the dark side. Their homes were once beautiful and ornate. But, after humans moved in and tore everything apart with their unwillingness to agree, the djinn homes were destroyed. They abandoned the temples created for them and refused to help the humans who once worshiped them and now used them. Mia was the stronger of the two twins and began to use her powers for evil and demented purposes. She wreaked havoc everywhere she went, forcing respect from all she encountered, no matter how short or long the time.

Raziel was closest to his sister because of the lack of attention from his parents. Plus, they were twins. Raziel at first didn’t agree with Mia’s method of justice until he was taken advantage of by a two-faced family out to get riches. Raziel, in a fit of rage, used his magics to set the home of the family on fire. Raziel and Mia went around unimpeded for almost 500 years until they were mistaken for demons in Egypt. A hunter, Cassandra, tracked them down and attempted to kill them. It didn’t work because the two beings were djinn and not demons. They easily avoided the hunter and went back to Iran. Cassandra tracked them down again and this time, with new knowledge of how to deal with the two, bound the two to the dolls that Panaru and Mary would later obtain. Cassandra buried the dolls under a tree and hoped no one would find them. Obviously, they were discovered. A traveling artisan dug up the two dolls after tripping over the hill created by their presence in the dirt. After being cleaned, the dolls were as good as new...and free. After a series of events, Raziel and his sister eventually came into the hands of Panaru and Mary. As much as Raziel protested to being transferred into the body of a girl, Mia insisted they do it lest they not find another family for another 200 years.

With enough coaxing and goading, the two djinn managed to convince 16-year-old Mary that she wanted to live forever. Mary was obsessed with being beautiful and young and wanted to stay like so forever. Mia had no problem getting her to bind herself to the doll. Mary wished to be a genie and was immediately bound to her doll. Panaru carefully came up with a contract for Raziel. She agreed to release Raziel from his imprisonment if he would help her find her sister, no matter how long it took. Panaru bound her life to Raziel. If she died, he would die. Raziel reluctantly accepted the contract and was freed from the doll.

At first, the two were at odds with each other. Raziel was always on Panaru about how stupid she was for making the contract and how stupid humans were in general. Panaru was always criticizing Raziel for his devious ways and his dependence on the so called idiotic humans. They often got into fights but were stuck with each other. Raziel knew it was the only way he could free himself. Panaru knew it was the only way she could find her sister. But, Raziel was disgusted by the fact that he had his powers reduced so much. Instead of the unlimited powers he once had as a pure djinn, Raziel now had the strength of a new genie.

They traveled the world together for a long time. Panaru came to rely on Raziel for safety. Raziel came to rely on Panaru for companionship since his ‘sister’ had disappeared. To help out with Panaru’s helplessness, Raziel forced her to learn fighting techniques and how to use a weapon, though Panaru greatly opposed to this. In turn, Panaru domesticated Raziel. Less of his sister’s influence could be seen the longer he was with Panaru. She was one of few good humans he’d seen in his time. Though Raziel will never admit it, he loves Panaru.

Raziel is very protective of Panaru. Raziel tried to help Panaru work on developing her powers but he knows he can’t do it. With the emergence of Academia Mutandis, Raziel knew it’d be safe for both of them to attend the school. Panaru could work on controlling her power and Raziel could develop his. And then they could undo the contract. But Raziel constantly wonders, would he undo the contract to have his powers back if it means the death of Panaru?

I'm requesting a second opinion on this one...and ideally, a third, fourth and fifth opinion too. ^^;; I hope you understand my concern here, as even with the limitations as given, he's going to be a ridiculously-powerful character. I'm thinking that he's going to need more limits of some kind, and we'll have to hash out just what those limits are.

Just because the djinn are kind of an ungodly powerful race, any use of the powers will be subject to admin jurisdiction. If we think it's alright, you're fine. If we see something we consider to be far too powerful, we'll tell you to edit accordingly.

If you're fine with that, I suppose we can stamp it.

Oh, sure. I'm fine with that. I doubt I'll be having Raziel use much of his powers anyways....yet....maybe later on when there is a development in the storyline he can jump in on. smile.gif Hooray.
