No one was here. No one of any repute, anyways. No student to be looked after, no teacher to do the looking. No one. There was a caretaker or two off in a different wing of the academy, but as of the present, that was all either Darren or Zero had seen. Or, at least that was what Darren believed. It was at times difficult to understand exactly what the puppet was saying, but it wasn't as if Darren was entirely heartless. He couldn't have left the little bastard to rot in front of the gate where he'd been. That would have just been cruel.

"Full House. Ace high"

Darren grimaced at the thing's eye holes. It had no eyeballs per say, but it was quite able to emote via it's non-existent eyebrows it's disbelief. The glove hand reached up with a quick to flip the ooze monster off, and this caused Darren to chuckle. An oozy tendril picked up the hand and fanned the little cretin with it. He couldn't win every hand, could he?

"Apparently you can...Damn you, you card shark. Are you sure you aren't cheating?"

Darren could have sworn the thing was laughing at him as he ripped off his t-shirt. It was a hot day, after all. But, this was beginning to get ridiculous. Exhibitionism was one of his things, sure, but he enjoyed winning games to children as opposed to loosing them. The kid had talent, to be sure. It was strip (of course), and Darren was at this point down to his boxers. Zero had at this point taken off a shoe. He rolled his neck and piercings jingled, biting down on his tongue to prevent himself from flying off the handle. He was certain the boy was taunting him, floating a couple feet above the ground with that airy cockiness. He didn't even have to touch the cards to play: they just played themselves. Another of the boy's numerous tricks, the ooze conceded. It was fortune that he'd run into him. Otherwise, Darren would've been bored sick waiting for all the students to come back to school. At least this way, he'd have someone to clown around with.

"Probably have it stitched into that jacket. Hey, you punk!"

He jumped up, suddenly infuriated. Tentacles shot out of his back and a couple restrained the floating devil. He ground his teeth together as the zero tried to escape, but Darren still strong enough for that at least.

"Now I gotcha: Where are you keeping those cards, you cheat?!"

Darren shook the little guy up and down, dislodging a couple knickknacks while the cards the boy had suspended in the air fell to the ground. Darren was entirely sure that his failure was not of his own doing until discovering to his embarrassment that he was just bad at poker. He let the boy down and smiled sheepishly as the patchwork puppet glared at him.

"Sorry?"

A Dagger in the forehead and an angry scramble later, Darren and Zero were back to playing cards. The Dagger was still lodged in Darren's forehead (he didn't seem to care), and both of the two were roughed up a little. The boy had lost another shoe. This time he was going to be back up, Darren thought. This was a streak. He could feel his luck changing. The wind felt like that.

"Ok, you scamp, whatcha got?"

Zero smiled, and Darren frowned. Thank god it was a hot day out.

Summer vacation, salvation for some, boredom for others. Boredom for the ones with no place to go. Take Trinity for instance. Home was technically just a country, no specific place in that country however. Therefore, she stayed, off in her own little world half the time. At least it was not crowded anymore, and she could use the school facilities to her content, like the gym or the pool. No little high school teenyboppers to bother her.

Right now, Trinity was wondering to the pool. Her body was cut, due to the boredom induced exercise program she began. Her body was clad in only a skimpy green string bikini. Her scars stood starkly against her tan skin, jagged and white. She had sunglasses on, and her hair was pulled back into a high ponytail. Her flip-flops clapped against her feet as she wondered toward the pool. A towel slung over her shoulders. As she walked, she spotted two characters off to the side. They were playing cards, and one of them, the apparent older one, was stripping. He was already down to his boxers. Trinity cocked an eyebrow and decided to wonder over. She paused half way, when she noticed them begin to fight, a dagger ended up imbedded in the older one’s forehead. She cocked an eyebrow, expecting him to fall over dead. No, instead, they resumed. Her brow furrowed, and she continued forward. Lifting up her glasses, she could now she who it was. Darren, ooze man. She grimaced, but figured she would be civil, having not seen company in some time. Therefore, she wandered over, and planted her butt down beside the two.

“Aces/deuces high?’ She asked, dropping her towel off to the side, not asking if she could join either.
