Name: Karandras Nemekilee

Age: Unknown

Grade: XXX

Birthdate: Unknown

Race: Eldar (Evolved elf)

Sex: Male

Occupation: Astronomy Teacher (with a strong focus on History)

Orientation: Straight

Country of Origin: Unknown

Appearance: Karandras has a very typical Eldar build. He is seven foot two with what would appear to be a very lanky frame. While he is muscular, the Eldar anatomy doesn't allow for much muscle mass to appear. His skin is a deep bronze and in very good condition, flawless infact, despite the obvious affinity to UV rays. His hair is long, just past his shoulder and usually pulled back to reveal his pointed ears. The ears themselves each have three silver half-inch hoops running from the lobe to just before the tip. His facial features are very strong and masculine, from a nicely squared jaw to sharp facial features.

Personality: Karandras is Arrogance incarnate. His distaste for just about every other living creature around him is only outmatched by his lust for attractive females, usually not caring too much about their speicies. He has a very strong love of Female Cat-Anthros, lusting after them whenever they happen to appear. Karandras also loves fighting and training to fight. He is highly looked upon in his own culture for his skills and prowess. He also has a huge hate-on for the undead. No real reason why. It started out as just hating Vampires because they had fangs, like him which Karandras disliked, but eventually he started killing anything that didn't have a pulse and walked around. At times Karandras can be a bit of a cypher, seeming very one-dimensional and not much else. At others he can become very deep and benevolent, but because he is so flippent it's hard to pin-point which mood he will be in and how long he will be in it.

Powers: 1. Karandras has the ability to call on the Phoenix Lord armor. It is usually stored in a web-way bubble and gives him incredible durability, aswell as it's own armaments. The Scoripion's Claw is an intense power-weapon that can build up an energy field around it to easily destroy heavy armor and vehicle plating, this weapon is the left hand of the armor and has a shuriken catapult mounted on the top. The Biting Blade is a sword/chainsaw hybrid. While is carries the shape of the sword, the front face of the sword is broad and carries sharp teeth that can begin to spin vertically like a chainsaw. This weapon is used to chew through light armour and bone like butter, usually grabbing on to what ever it's attacking and dragging it with the teeth. The helmet is equipped with a psychicly activated weapon called the Scorpion's Bite. It fires small wraithbone pins from the mandible like barrels on the front of the mask, each pin is psychicly tuned to the Eldar's thoughts which allows him to fire strong pulses of psychic energy into the attacker leaving the paralyzed for a short time, very similar to the sting of a scorpion. These pins are stored in a large pack, built into the back of the armour. The suit it's self is also built of the very durable substance, wraithbone. Not actually a bone, it is almost completely resistant to heat and is very hard to do break or crack, being very similar to space-age plastics in the fact it works on a bend, not break principal.

2. Telekinetic abilities. While Karandras is fairly weak by Eldar standards when it comes to psyker abilities he has still mastered the basic ability of using the energy of his mind as a physical presence. He can use it in anyway he could use his hand, grabbing something, stopping something, using it as a blunt object and other such things.

Skills:
1. Incredibly good hearing, like all Elves and Eldar he was born that way

2. Above average strength, speed and agility. Again, see above.

3. Bionic upgrades to both eyes. While his eyes are organic, they have been implanted with small devices which give his eyes the upper hand in distance (able to see up to 70/70 with no real difficulty)

4. Well developed fighting skills in pit-fighting

History:
Karandras was originally just an Exarch of the Striking Scorpion aspect of the warrior. He led and trained those on his adopted Craftworld of Anaigan for many years, always learning and honing his skills. Because of head trauma when he was younger he could not remember his place of birth or where he learned the skills. When Arhra, the Father of the Scorpions and the original Phoenix Lord betrayed the Eldar for the dark kin there was a vaccum left by his disappearence. Karandras' armor was then blessed by Kaela Mensha Khaine, blessing it as the new armour of the Phoenix Lord. The Father of the Scorpions was dead and replaced by The Shadow Hunter. Once Karandras became a Phoenix Lord he was no longer bound to one Craftworld, instead going where ever he was required to lead the Striking Scorpions in the stead of his Exarch due too injury or the lack of an Exarch due too death or other such things. Karandras' unlike the other Phoenix Lords (Asurmen, Jain-Zar, Maugan-Ra, Baharroth and Fuegan) he didn't really choose to be there and unlike them, he sways more to the ways of the Eldar before the fall. Enjoying decadence and arrogance, however this flaw also acts as an asset as it makes him much better suited to fit in and infiltrate other cultures because of he doesn’t follow strictly to any of the Eldar pathes. Sent to Earth for two purposes, one to gather information and one to stop an attack before it happens. He hops from place to place to try and find out what he can and gather what information he could. If he found the man who start the lineage of the man who would later cause the tragedy he was to kill him. If he couldn't they would find another way to prevent it, although this was quite unlikely. Karandras' being the proud hunter he was vowed to find him and is now on Earth until he does. The school is just one of his many stops after getting a transmission to check out the country known as England. While here he needed to blend in and what better way to do so than to work where no one would think to look (not that anyone is looking), a school. (The history is intentionally vague. I will expand if necessary but I would really prefer to keep it hidden)

History of the Eldar
In the Beginning: The history of the Eldar is a tale of a quick rise to power, a long time of control and arrogance and a quick and decisive fall from grace scattering the race and pushing it to the brink of extinction. Depending what you follow the Eldar were either created by the Eldar God of the Harvest, Isha or The Old Ones; a long lived race that created three races in an attempt to battle a race called Necrontyr which was bent on total annhilation of all living creatures. Most Eldar accept the fact that Isha was their creator but there are many who believe the Old Ones and the Eldar Gods are one and the same. The three races: Eldar, Krork and Jokaero. The Jokaero were wiped out in fighting the Necrontyr, the Krork were shattered and hopelessly scatted and devolved in a way that left them only looking for fighting but the Eldar remained strong and delivered the finishing blow to the Necrontyr which sent them into their long slumber. It was around this time that the War of the Heavens occurred. After this the Eldar were by far the most powerful race. Created intentionally with strong psionic abilites they had a leg up on any opponents because they had a direct attachment to the Immaterium dimension world also known as the “Warp” . They quickly expanded and their technology took off. Soon they were unmatched in anyway. Intelligence, military prowess, culture. It was in this time the Eldar left their homeworld and began expanding throughout the galaxy. After only a million years the controlled almost half of the galaxy all to themselves. They had quickly become the most feared race, their Empire was nearly unstoppable and soon hard labour was no longer required. The Eldar began an age of extreme prosperity where there was no need to work, instead they began to focus on more arrogance and decadence. They explored curiosty and desire over knowledge. Instead of learning they ways of the universe and the Immaterium they instead focused on feeding the Immaterium with their pleasure and excess. They explored dark secrets of the universe, invested instand pleasure and took joy in wanton violence. These are all things that would lead to what is now simply referred to as “The Fall”
The Fall: The fall is the point where one dramatic event shattered the Eldar Empire in one fell stroke. The Eldar race’s decadent ways were feeding the Immaterium at an incredible pace since unlike most other races they were psychically in tune with this other dimension. Normally the thoughts and desires will create a small disturbance in the Immaterium but because the thought is always fleeting it can never be sustained. Sometimes they are fed long enough to create a disturbance in the Immaterium that becomes sentient, and eventually becomes a being in its self. The Eldar’s excessively arrogant and hedonistic life-style was feeding one such being and because the Eldar were so in-tune with the Immaterium it gained sentience quickly. While many Seers and morally astute Eldar tried to warn their bretheren of the deadly path they were ignored and soon fled their brethren. This hedonisitic corruption coupled with the psychically atuned souls of Eldar seeking the ultimate thrill entering the Immaterium it gave the disturbance gained a foot-hold in real space as well and as the vices grew even further the disturbance came to to life as Slaanesh, The Devourer of Souls; The Chaos God of Pleasure and Excess and ultimately the death knell of the Eldar Empire. Slaanesh’s full birth in the warp created a psychic wave that tore a hole between the Immaterium and the physical space at the center of the Eldar Empire plunging most of the original planets in a state of limbo, neither there nor not there. It also tore the souls of billions of Eldar straight from their body, consumed by the young God, like a small animal just born and needing to be fed. Only those Eldar on the most outlying worlds or those who had fled to get away from the corruption were still alive. All that was left of the Eldar Empire was millions from billions and almost no planets. The race was broken. It is said that upon Slaanesh’s arrival he set out to fully wipe out the Eldar race, but the Eldar God’s intervened and fell like flies up until Slaanesh came up against Kaela Mensha Khaine. Eldar lore states that Khaine had Slaanesh at his mercy but could only deliver the finishing blow by merging with the Chaos God Khorne. Instead of merging with the Chaos God, Khaine shattered himself into a million pieces and scattered himself in the mortal realm in the form of the Avatar, a Large demon incarnation of himself. He also shattered himself into six pieces of armor, which would later become the Armor worn by each Phoenix Lord.
Going Forward: After the fall came a time for picking up the pieces and living as refugees with no real home. Most Eldar no longer identify with their home planets but instead from their Craftworld, large planet sized ships that now house the Eldar which act as little more than clans. There are ten to twenty Craftworlds as well as a few planet based Eldar. They are scattered and lack cohesion, rarely working together because they are never near eachother. While Eldar will work together if needed, but because it is so rare to come across one another they act as separate cells. Most Eldar now follow the Path of the Eldar to avoid ever falling into the same entrapment and hedonistic life style ever again. The Path of the Eldar has many distinct branches; The path of the Wanderer which is what someone who leave’s their Craftworld follows; The Path of the Warrior which is followed by anyone who follows the path of fighting or war, and then the sub-branch of this is the Path of the Aspect which is for a warrior who seeks to learn one of the Aspects; The Path of the Seer which is followed by anyone who seeks to hone their psychic abilities to become a Warlock and if they are powerful and wise enough, a Farseer. These are the main branches that will likely be followed, because there are so few almost everyone will pick up a weapon and fight, whether it is a simple Shuriken Catapult or one of the distinct weapons of the Aspect Warriors. All Eldar must follow the path, or they will be doomed to repeat the errors of old. There are Eldar who do not want to give up their old ways, still living the self-gratuitous life style, they are referred to as the Dark Eldar. There are also another off-shoot, The Harlequins who are governed by Cegorach, the Laughing God. While the other Eldar god’s fought and died it is said Cegorach fled to the Eldar Web-way and hid there, amongst the tunnels and pathways that are nearly impossible to navigate. Here he created the Harlequins, Eldar who were not Dark, but did not fear Slaanesh. Eldar wear soul-stones over their chest meant to catch their soul upon death as opposed to let it get sucked into the Immaterium and eaten by Slaanesh. Both Dark Eldar and Harlequins to do not wear soul stones; Dark Eldar because they still do not care and only seek the greatest thrills in life; Harlequin’s because it is said that Cegorach will rescue their soul by tricking Slaanesh and taking it from him and adding to his own existence. The Eldar roam the galaxy on their large starships, looking for ways to repair their fallen Empire, and although they are no longer hedonistic they are still very Arrogant are still have technology far beyond almost any other race.

Physiology of the Eldar
Superficially, the Eldar appear very similar to humans, though they are generally taller, lithe of limb, and fit, with sharp features and pointed ears. Eldar reflexes and movement are generally far faster than humans, their senses are sharper and they are more perceptive. While visually similar at a distance, it has been suggested that the most striking topical difference between Humans and Eldar can be seen when the Eldar move, exhibiting an extremely graceful and intentional manner that is not exhibited in humans.
An Eldar body contains no fat and their muscle fibers are dense and springy to support their agility and grace, along with bones that are lighter than human bones (and without marrow). The internal organs of an Eldar do not have any direct correlation to human organs, and display an aesthetic cleanliness and tidiness about them. Their abdominal cavity contains bony plates that function as a secondary ribcage protecting the digestive organs. However, there are no chemical enzymes or digestive fluids present in the Eldar "stomach". An Eldar heart is known to beat twice as fast as a human's and the Eldar brain has an extreme density of cerebral matter with sorts of ganglia and teeth are outgrowths of the skull, unlike human teeth which are separate from the skull fundamentally. An Eldar has extremely advanced reaction skills compared to a human, their movements and reactions are almost too fast for human eyes to follow. An Eldar mind is said to process problems, emotions, and feeling in split seconds, much faster than a normal human.
The Eldar are long-lived by human standards, and most will live hundreds or even thousands of years unless they are otherwise killed. As a race they have a high level of psychic ability, which also serves as the foundation of their technology. The Eldar that actively cultivate their psychic potential seem to exhibit a much-extended lifespan as well, one proportional to their prowess. In this way the leaders and Seers of the Eldar may live for several thousand years. However, the death of an Eldar seer is not simply shedding the physical body; a dying Eldar seer transforms into pure crystal, as does any living Seer who spends too long scrying.

( War of the Heavens does not factor into Eldar history, more mythology. Whether it actually happened or not does not affect the outcome. The Warp is a domain of pure energy which does not follow the laws of physics allowing for faster than light travel. It is created by the energy of of emotion and reaction. Psykers are strongly intune with this aspect and it allows them to see and control what is going on in the Immaterium. The Warp is also the home of Chaos Gods, created by the condensed emotions of many races. The Immaterium cannot cross over into the real universe with out an incredible trauma, however it can create a form of space turbulence called “Warp Storms”. The name of the homeworld was lost when it was destroyed during the Fall, believed to be the center of the Eye of Terror.)

Not bad, but I'm afraid I still have a few significant issues with it:

1) The Phoenix Lord armor is far too powerful, especially after his other abilities are factored in. As described, it would be nigh-indestructable for all practical purposes, and allows no less than four distinct means of attack, three of them fairly powerful. Rein it in.

2) Depending on how far you curb the armor's abilities, the Telekinesis will either need to be dropped altogether, or its limits (range, maximum weight he can manipulate using it, etc.) carefully defined. As given, it's much too broad.

3) His first three "skills" would actually count as powers--especially the bionic upgrades. Based on precedent, however, the racial abilities can be grouped together and classified as a single power--up to a certain point.

As for the "70/70 vision" being an improvement...well, it doesn't quite work like that. The first number represent the default distance for an eye exam, while the second represents the distance at which a person with "normal" vision can make out the same level of detail. If both numbers match--as they do here--then he just has normal vision. =P

4) His History: First off, before anything else, it needs to be broken into paragraphs (and to a lesser extent, so does the racial information). ANd yes,, his history needs more detail: even having read through both it and the racial info several time much of it remains unclear.

In short, it has some serious problems--the biggest being that he is a near-perfect, near-invincible killing maching without nearly enough disadvantages to offset--hell, without any discernable disadvantages whatsoever. If you adress these issues, I'll revirw it again, but as it stands now I cannot accept him.

It was broken down into paragraphs when I copied, didn't stay that way when I pasted. I also haven't been to the optometrist in... well ever so it's good to know about the eye thing.

I will see what I can do to tone it down without compromising a long standing character. Shouldn't be too hard, just some tweaking here and there. I'll also need a rough idea of what else you want from the history. His origins are even vague to him so that is a big reason I leave it vague.

Cheers in advance.

His distaste for just about every other living creature around him is only outmatched by his lust for attractive females, usually not caring too much about their speicies. At others he can become very deep and benevolent, but because he is so flippant it's hard to pin-point which mood he will be in and how long he will be in it. Like most Eldar, Karandras prefers not to be in the presence of races he deems inferior for extended periods of time (unless he is killing them)

Powers: 1. While Karandras is a Phoenix Lord, the distinct armour that he ahs would stick out far too easily, especially on a planet not as technologically advanced as his race. Instead, Karandras chose to take one of the weapons from the armour. His Biting Blade. The Biting Blade is a sword/chainsaw hybrid. While is carries the shape of the sword, the front face of the sword is broad and carries sharp teeth that can begin to spin vertically like a chainsaw. This weapon is used to chew through light armour and bone like butter, usually grabbing on to whatever it's attacking and dragging it with the teeth. The weapon is fairly long, the blade it’s self is five feet long. Because of the wraithbone it is constructed with and his alien physiology he is easily able to wield this powerful weapon with just one hand.

2. Telekinetic abilities. While Karandras is fairly weak by Eldar standards when it
comes to psyker abilities he has still mastered the basic ability of using the energy of his mind as a physical presence. He can use it in anyway he could use his hand, grabbing something, stopping something, using it as a blunt object and other such things. This is usually limited in range, he has to be able to see where he is using this, and it tends to only be within a range of 100 yards.
3. His race specific abilities of incredibly good hearing, and strength above that of a human. He is also far faster and more agile than any human. Eldar movement is so quick that it takes someone who is very focused to keep track of short quick movements (like a punch). While running, the Eldar are so graceful they can move as fast as car without much effort at all, and are quite acrobatic,

Skills: 1. Karandras a very skilled and seasoned fighter, he is exceptionally good at all forms of pit-fighting styles which focus on raw power and Eldar martial-arts which focus on evasiveness and stealth.

2. He is an expert with most forms of technology. Because he is briefed before each mission he has a vast knowledge of what technology he has available to him on a planet and is very aware of how to use it.

History: Karandras origins are heavily shrouded in mystery with no real documentation. While he states he was born on the Biel-Tan Craftworld some 8,500 years after the fall, there is no evidence of this. Karandras is the Phoenix Lord of the Striking Scorpion Aspect warriors, representing the thrill of the hunt and toughness of Khaine (each “Aspect” represents a part of the Warrior God). Unlike the other five Phoenix Lords (Asurman, The Hand of Asur and leader of the Dire Avengers; Jain-Zar, The Storm of Silence and the leader of the Howling Banshees; Baharroth, The Cry of the Wind and the leader of the Swooping Hawks; Fuegan, The Burning Lance, leader of the Fire Dragons; and Maugan-Ra, The Harvester of Souls and leader of the Dark Reapers) but unlike the others he was not the first of his aspect.
It is unknown how he came to possess armour blessed by Khaine or when he got it. Karandras was not trained by Asurman like the others but still fights with the zeal and tends to the Scorpion shrines as the others tend to theirs. Because he could not use the original Phoenix Lord’s first Shrine, he instead used the one he created on the Craftworld Anaigan became his shrine (Shrines are where the aspect is trained. The first shrine is where the Phoenix Lord resides when not moving Craftworld to Craftworld helping fight the battles for the better of all Eldar). He rarely stayed in his shrine, choosing to travel in the Webway to wherever he was called and to stay in a mode of perpetual fighting.

Karandras attitude, in comparison to most Eldar is still very hedonistic which usually leaves him very ostracized outside of battle, most Eldar having given up such traits. There are rumours that his birth place may be with those of the Web-way dwelling Harlequins who, much like Karandras, have not entirely given up the pursuits of pleasure they once did, although nowhere near to the extent the race once did. Karandras’ attitude does have its benefits and the Seer council does not hesitate to exploit this. Because he is not so strict he has a much easier time in other environments outside of his fellow Eldar (most Eldar prefer only to stay with Eldar). Karandras can easily assimilate information on a culture or a planet and begin to blend in to get information that the Seers could not forsee.

This is a major reason Karandras was chosen for a mission to Earth. Earth will be a large focus point of the galaxy in the future, but that was not why Karandras was sent there. The Seers have forseen a human doing great damage to the Craftworld Iyaden in the far future but they could not get a grasp of him or who his direct descendents were, instead they could only grasp his lineage and so to stop the destruction from happening they have sent Karandras to Earth to hunt down and kill the very beginning of this man’s lineage, both the Matriarch and Patriarch of the lineage.

While on the Planet, Karandras needed some form of cover, and while he had the technology to get around the planet quickly, he needed a base of operations and a way to blend in while gathering information on the planet beyond what his original briefing entailed. He landed in England and quickly found the best place to learn on any planet: A school. He quickly assimilated all the knowledge he needed to teach one of the available classes (using both information at hand and data streams from his superiors on the craft hiding behind Mars to keep Earth technology from detecting them.) Getting all the knowledge he could on the planet’s basic law systems. He applied at a local school and quickly settled in.

Because he is used to the artificial atmosphere of a craftworld or the Webway Karandras is having a hard time adapting to Earth, this leaves him unable to access his full well of power, and though he is still quite powerful, the amount of carbon-dioxide in the air also takes it’s toll on him.
