all rp boards have rules and a plot, although we don't have much of a plot, its still here if you need to read it so you can see where we are and what kind of board we are. our rules are simple and easy to remember, also the phrase needed for the application is in the rules. make sure you read everything, well both of the topics in this board carefully!

every so often an admin will need to post something important, it could just be a random update or telling you about an upcoming event. either way, each topic in here, is very important and we expect you to read them. it could include something very important that concerns you or your character. we don't do activity checks here, so they won't be posted up at all here, but stuff regarding activity might. so keep checking back here.

the site isn't perfect as much as we'd like to think it is, but truthfully it isn't. we however don't appreciate bitching or moaning in the cbox about it. the cbox is not there for that. this would definitely be the place to do that. any questions regarding the plot, the site should be asked here. and any suggestions you'd like to make regarding the site should also go here. please opt to do this rather than pm'ing an admin.

relationship charts
these may not get used as much as they used to. but they're still incredibly handy to see who's sleeping with who or who's best friends with each other or even who hates each other. just post one up, and plot away. there's plenty of sites, like caution and white pages that have premade plottages all ready for you.

modern day new york, well of course everyone is keeping in contact over the airways. whether its by instant messenger, or over cell phone, your characters are going to be doing the same. start an open im thread and chat out your little hearts desire until your eyes go square. or set up your own cell phone page and have other characters text your characters or leave them voicemails. they are both great boredom busters!

a big magazine like shock, of course its going to have its own website. they post up to the date gossip about your favourite celebrities and have most of whats in the magazine online. but of course not everything from the magazine is online, then no one would buy the actual magazine. check in here as to whats going on and whats being published in shock each week!

ground floor
when you walk into the shock building i don't doubt your jaw won't drop to the floor. the exterior is modern architecture but once you step inside its sleek and chic interior is extremely stylish and you know straight away this magazine means business. on the ground floor you can find the reception, which is where you report to if you're a visitor. first aid is also down on the ground floor as is the security offices and if you go down a set of stairs you'll find administration and finance.

first floor
the first floor is home to marketing. its where all those smarty pants sit working out profit and what free gifts should be given with the magazine and all the stats like that. you'll also find fund raising on this floor too, where all the charity work and volunteers can be found. also if you're hungry this absolutely amazing canteen is on this floor. the canteen is almost like gourmet food, set on the north side which over looks a lot of nyc, with large glass windows its a bright and perky place and always busy with people getting their caffeine fix or taking a break from the hard work.

second floor
all those writers, whether its tabloid rubbish like rumours or shameless articles to interviews with celebrities to articles on real life drama. the floor is divided up into senior, junior all that kind of stuff. so if you're a new writer desperate for your articles to get submitted into shock, then you are going to have to work really hard for it. if you're a senior member however, it'll be easy as eating cake.

third floor
if you work on the third floor then you are very, very, very lucky. your one of those people who gets all the freebies. all the dvd's, all the tickets to movie premieres, all the new albums you get it all first then you get to write about it then get paid for it. oh its a wonderful life for a reviewer. all the review stuff goes on, on this floor. there's even rooms where you can go relax and watch a dvd and pretend your working.

fourth floor
from food and lifestyle to relationship advice to the sex pages. all that kind of writing goes on here. lots of research goes into what happens here. its always a very busy floor, but surprisingly mostly full of women, there's only a few guys working around here. but i'm pretty positive they don't mind working around a group of hot women do they?

fifth floor
fashion, fashion, fashion. its a big part of our every day lifestyle now and here at shock its a huge part of the magazine. there's countless pages of new trends, clothes and models. here on the fifth floor you have almost too many studios and wardrobes full of clothes. its a great place to come and 'borrow' clothes if you are ever stuck before a night out.

sixth floor
editing offices are all located on the sixth, and this is where the magic happens.all the stories, photos, articles, everything all gets submitted and its gets looked at then they decide whether it then goes onto the editor in chief. then of course its get ready for printing and boom. this guys get paid the big bucks virtually doing nothing. they have a really nice, wide open spaced floor as well. not as crowded as the others but that is of course that there's not that many editing staff.

seventh floor
this would be classed as like the penthouse suite. up here you have four huge chic offices. one belonging to the editor in chief and the other four belong to the partners who own shock. this floor is serious business, if you get sent here then your usually in trouble, about to get fired or about to get given a promotion. either way, these offices are glorious for those who occupy them and the personal assistants who have their own little offices.

shopping? oh shopping. don't you just love to shop. whether its for clothes, shoes, stuff for your apartment, groceries its a nice way to relax ease the system and spend a load of money. new york is one of the fashion capitals of the world, so they have top designers for you to nosy at. there's plenty of shops all over new york and are all located within this board. so go crazy and max out that credit card!

apparently we need to eat to live? yeah i didn't know that one either! anyway, new york has plenty of places to eat, get fat or if your a model pretend to eat. new york's full of cheap diners, expensive restaurants, cute little coffee shops or deli's whatever you feel like, new york will probably be able to offer it better than anywhere else.

new york has plenty of things to go see or do. like spending a day in central park, or going to see a broadway show. there's lots of museum's to visit, plenty of parks, markets to visit and plenty of sights to go see. all that kind of stuff goes on here. for the more cultural of you people, who like that kind of stuff. new york is perfect for it!

who doesn't love going out and getting completely drunk and stumbling home? new york has great nightlife. there's so many clubs, chic bars and places to drink and have a good time. they say its the city that never sleeps and if you decided to go out at night, all night you'd understand how true that statement is. its a great city for all its nightlife.

from the hotels of new york, to the transport system, to hospitals to the police station to the city jail. other important places around new york are all located here. new york has plenty of hotels to stay in if your wife kicks you out, of if you want a luxury weekend away with your partner. hell some people even live in the hotels here in new york!

do you live in manhattan? soho? the bronx? queens? if you do, or anywhere else in new york perhaps then here is where your house will be located. make sure you sign up for one. houses are great for living in, sleeping in, holding parties in. come to think of it they are quite handy to have aren't they? your own place. whether its an apartment, a town house, a house in the suburbs or a hotel room. it goes in here!
