I am looking for a good solution to turn my hobbico starter cordless.
I once saw a site that used a cordless drill battery pack. They actually had a kit to convert it to use the codless drill battery pack. Does anyone know where I can find this? Thanks Jack |

Dont waste your time with those batteries.
I stole an Idea from Rod. Buy yourself a 4S pack from HK. Rod uses a 3000mah pack, I ordered a 5000mah pack. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/u...?idProduct=9177$39.95 http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/u...?idProduct=9264$21.95 Just hook it up a deans conector to your starter and another to the pack. The packs are small, lightweight and pack a ton of OOomph! Fashioning a mounting bracket would be a peice of cake. Charges in 1 hour and provides all the starts you would need in a day. If you need more, charging the Lipo from your car wouldnt take very long. I might have mine there tomorrow, Rod will definitely have his there. Come on over and take a look at how we do it! |

Nice, but it says "battery not included" I hate to ask how much is the battery? |

A deans connector is one of the more common electrical connector being used by modellers.
 One (female) is attached to the battery and the other(male) is attached to the device -ie speed controller or in this case, the electric starter. It makes for fast and easy disconnect for swapping batteries or recharging. Personally, I prefer the Anderson Powerpole connector- it has a lot of merits:  You dont need male/females, they are androgenous. It is BY FAR the easiest connector to solder. You also dont need heat shrinking, the leads fit into the connector. Now I am starting to migrate the the HK XT60 Connector, not because I dont like andersons, but I have run out and will get more in toledo in the spring. The HK XT60 connector it is supposed to be as good as the deans connector but is significantly less costly  |
