should you go down to manly on a sunday and not be able to find the Brisbane 12 foot skiffs, it is because we now (from saturday 23/9/06)sail on a saturday out of RQYS (that blue blazer wearing yacht squadron at the southern end of the marina), this move has occured to ensure that 12s race each weekend in brisbane.

Thats interesting Paulo, but didn't the 12s used to sail there a long time ago ? I once wore an orange Kaftan in the bar at ROYS without being evicted, weren't the 1980s fun?

And where do you reckon the nationals will be held ? At ROYS or at the Catamaran club ? or the WM Yacht Club ?

Not to big a deal either way, we southerners are happy to visit anywhere in the Bay, but draw the line at the entrance to the brisbane river. The olde Bulimba 18 club is nice to visit for a frosty glass of XXXX but not for skiff racing.

cheers,
boco

p.s. Go the Broncos (since the mighty Manly Sea Eagles have ended their season early).

The sight of Boco and Burger jogging down the Esplanande in ther orange kaftans was a sight to behold. Don't remeber the kaftan's in the bar at Roys place but hey, there are large tracks of the 80's I don't remember much about, especially the Brisbane trips.

Remember the Kombi trip with you me and Neil Caddy ?

One driver two drinkers with a deck chair tied between the two front seats. And that goose hitchhicker we picked up who was adamant that Pink Floyd was still alive !!!! And the good bloke who gave us some home brew for giving him a lift - not that we needed any more piss

Or the trip back with you and burger drinking a bottle of beenliegh rum between Brisbane and Byron and spewing out the window over lusty's boat then burger falling out the pub window

Or - I could go on and on and on
