Title: Crew available from November in Qld.
Description: Skiff-crazed and soon to be boatless!

Emo - October 18, 2005 10:43 AM (GMT)
G'day all,

I'm a 65-70kg (depending on beer intake... a hard week on the terps and this can blow out to 75...) 19 y.o. bloke with an addiction to adrenaline and a fair bit of sailing experience looking to jump into something fast that doesn't have training wheels. So, is anyone in Qld (Brisbane) looking for a lightweight who can pack a kite like no tomorrow, hang off any wire you want, able to provide technical advice (2 years Engineering/Nav. Arch. under my belt, taking 2005/2006 off uni to travel and sail as many fast boats as much as possible) and will be available for the entire season (as of 10th November onwards)?

I've been skippering B14s for roughly 3 years, tinkering with NS14s and Moths for a fair while (the moth in the garage will be getting some foils and surgery shortly after I get back to Brisbane), I've done time in the Sharpies (with reasonable results), Lasers/Spirals in NSW and some Sportsboat racing in Tas.

I consider anything without a kite to be too boring to worth it, no pain is no gain, and chicks dig scars. So development skiffs have to be the next stop for me. So, please save me from the Taipans. The only other option for me is to buy an MG or a Cherub... they're good, but just don't compare.

So, can anyone help me out?

If you think you might be looking for somebody as a regular or just as a fill in, give me a call on 0402 443 556 or email me on jon_emonson@hotmail.com

Cheers and Many Beers,
Jono

Jono you sound perfect for the class. Paul O-Malley is a good person to contact up in sunny brisbane, he knows whats what and who's who in QLD 12 foot skiffs. Hope it works out and we meet you at a 12' skiff regatta some time soon.

cheers,
boco

Cheers Boco,

I had a brief chat to Paul O-J about this time last year at MYCQ, however the scene may have changed since then (there were a few boats in need of crews then, but they were either in need of repair or in need of new owners). Do you have his e-mail address so I can get an idea as to who's got their boats going and who is in need of a wire-monkey up the pointy end?

Cheers,
Jono

slight problem though... I'm in tassie for another fortnight. I'll be down at MYCQ the first weekend I can though. See you then.

Jono
