Title: Spiderman 3 : Sword swinging New Goblin

Sam Raimi didn't want Venom to be in part 3, I think you should all know that before I begin; Avi Arad made him include the fan favorite character in the film, hence why there seem to be a great deal many more villains this time, originally there was to be two, and Venom was shoehorned in and Raimi wouldn't cut the others.

The man we see before us today is the NEW GOBLIN, aka Harry Osborn using a modified version of the Green Goblin gear to enact revenge on Peter Parker, the man he believes killed his father (he knows who pete really is btw).

What happens is anyones guess I haven't seen the movie or paid any attention to the spoilers regarding him.

SCULPT: He would look really good.....had this been 1995. Very bland sculpt, yes you can see the basic look, but the figure is lacking in general texture that would be appreciated here. The figure is also of the unmasked variety....but I'll be damned if you can say that's James Franco under that mask, great way to blow the likeness Hasbro (and WHY? Your Star Wars likenesses are only getting better fer chrissakes why screw up here?), the only highlight would have to be the back pack looking bit, plenty of nice details there.

Outside of that he's a mediocre sculpt with some serious proportions issues (see:ginormous hands) that is stuck in an awkward pose.

ARTICULATION: I ask WHAT ARTICULATION?!?!? I guess due to his goofy action feature (he swings a sword! I think....mine doesn't work I guess). He has only SIX points of movement: legs, waist, neck, and arms (well to be fair the arms are the ball jointed types)

Now I say this is atrotious, this is from a line that has been KNOWN for great poseablilty and all we get is this? I mean hell I've seen figures at this scale with similar action features receive more points of movement (hell the Star Wars figures come to mind...), no to mention that the figure has that slight walking forward pose goin on...which means he can only really be stood up while on his glider (he won't stand on his own). The ball jointed shoulders are a nice touch, but lack of movement elsewhere on the arm dampens that.

overall poor

PAINT: Well he's painted....Remember my 1995 comment? Think the same thing, he's mostly black so he's cast in flat black plastic with select bits of his armor painted another color (and only a single color....there doesn't look to be any washes here). Need I also mention some bits AREN'T painted? Yessiree bob the weapon on his holster is black like his holster....since it wasn't painted.

The head got the standard ONE color (red) for the eyebrows and hair AND EYES!....GAR!

ACESSORIES: I'm beginning to believe this is why I bought this figure..... New Goblin DOES come with quite a few acessories: removeable mask, sword, batarang looking weapon, two pumpkin bombs, and his glider.I'll do each individually:

Mask: Same green as the other bits, so it fits colorwise...now I wish it fit one him! Maybe it's the design, but the mask just doesn't look right on his face, as it's always just off.

Sword: Looks to be a straight reissue from the last Goblin fig. Not the worse thing in the world, however it does suffer from the warped rubbery plastic that light can easily shine through (he's right by the monitor and the house lights are off so I notice). At least the handle is painted.....

Batarang thing: another reissue, too damn big and he can't hold it. The sucker is cast in grey plastic: and is unpainted.

Pumpkin bombs: also too big (and his sculpt looks like it was done out of proportion so he COULD hold these, he can't) cast in bright oragne plastic with very little detailing paint, but that's alright since it doesn't need alot to begin with.

Glider: Honestly the reason I bought him. Thie glider lacks the ugly 'flame' trigger on it. Now it's a simply glider that has the same sculpt and paint as above.

It also has a wheel on the bottom of it.....why no fucking stand HUH?

OVERALL: HUGE disappointment, and I thought I was finally numb to this. Bad even for this line, bought soley for the acessories, which weren't that great to begin with.

I suggest avoiding this one, don't even buy it for the kids since the action feature breaks easily.
